Generic MP3 input on active HU

I have just taken a photo of mine and I realised that my aux is labelled different to Andy's as shown in my photograph below. So Skitz I suggest you try both wiring. Are you sure you have the aux option - if you double press the CD button do you get AUX? If not then this guide is no good for you. But assuming it does have it, it seems that you will have to do trial and error.

A.AF-R - right aux
A.AF (in between R and L) is earth
A.AF-L - left aux

how u get hu out?

I cut up an old metal wire coat hanger, ill take a
photo if you want. U poke them in and push the wires to the sides and put ur hand in the glove box and push the hu out. Its a tad fiddly. Just be patient and it will pop out.

Kl, to be fair it was quite tricky with the hanger as they bend really easily. But it worked for me!

I'm excited to do this ipod workaround , but I don't know how to take the HU out of the panel

I was wondering if we can attach a USB device as well.

I took a look at USB Pinout at

Maybe it can work doing something like

1 VCC
+5V to UB+
2 D-
Data - to Data out
3 D+
Data + to Data in
4 GND
Ground to ground symbol

Anyone wants to give it a try ?

No chance at all ! HU does not have an USB controller....

I got mine working.
I ordered the M-45-1 connector housing and <h4 style="line-height: 100%; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;">M-47 socket tips from Nexxia.


I tried using the cable from earphones, but the wire is so flimsy it's impossible to make good connection. Instead I used a hi-fi cable and chopped the two end plugs of. This cable had much more copper and I got excellent connection.
