Days Milton Keynes

Read about this indy on here a couple of times but for the first time they had an ad in my local paper this week.

Sound very good, anyone in Bucks tried them?

Re: Days Milton Keynes

I absolutely cannot fault this garage! The owner is exellent. After just being sold a lemon of a Punto by a garage (Northridge Cars in Hemel Hempstead....) I have had no end of problems with it!

Lots of creaking and sqeaking and a grinding noise. I took it into him and he diagnosed the problem before he had even looked at my car. He drove it anyway to be sure and to check a couple of other niggly bits and confirmed it was the Transmission Bearing that needed replacing. Being a bird, I know nothing about this. He pulled up parts diagrams on the computer to show me and gave me a firm quote. He also said that as I had only had the car for a week or so I should take it back to the dealers to get them to do it and told me to give them his number if they had any questions. He also gave me a printout of work that needed doing to take to them. It worked and the dealer finally fixed my car. It took them a week, but they did it and saved me £450!

I just took it back in yesterday for a knocking noise and more creaking thinking it needed a new clutch and one of my wipers had packed up, and a wobbly passenger seat (see, I told you it was a lemon). He had it up on the ramps and showed me everything under the car, pointing out loose bolts and worn and missing exhaust mounts. He greased the handbrake props and tightened the gearbox mount bolt to stop the creaking there and then for nothing.
Booked it in for the next day (today) and he had welded the seat, replaced the mounts, put in a whole new wiper mechanism and checked over all the nuts and bolts the dealer would have changed/moved to do the transmission bearing and just generally gave the car a once over. He did all this in 3 hours!
I had a free loan car for the morning and my car back by lunchtime! Only got charged for wipers, exhaust mounts and seat strip down. The rest he did out of the goodness of his heart. So a bill for £187 wasn't blimmin bad for such excellent service. I will definately be taking my Fiat back to him. He is fair and honest with you all the way. Highly highly recommended.

Re: Days Milton Keynes

Will be trying 'Days' later this month, first time in 15 years of car ownership I'll be using an indy for servicing! Will also get them to do my MOT hopefully.

So I'll let you know how I get on, anyone used them recently?

Re: Days Milton Keynes

Had my car serviced by them last year. I was impressed. I am going there today to have the Tesco/Lambda problem fixed - hopefully!

Re: Days Milton Keynes

David at daysmk is a genius Very trust worthy and they dont try and conn you! Also its the little things they do aswell like I needed a seam welded on my exhaust (all other garages wouldnt do it and would only do a complete system change ) So went to days and had no problems £15 compared to £300!!! While he was doing this he noticed I had a creaky door, which annoyed me but I lived with it. But there was a bolt mising and he fixed it for free!!! thumbs up for me

Re: Days Milton Keynes

Dave is a great guy. I had the Tesco petrol problem. I think many garages are taking people for a ride on this, replacing all Lambda sensors and catalytic converters knowing the customer will get reimbursed for it. Anyway, although the Stilo has 2 (perhaps 3) sensors, Dave said only the one needed replacing. He did it today (Saturday). Got there at 8:30, gave me a courtesy car to do the Saturday morning chores, and it was done by 12. Now the hard part - dealing with Mr. Tesco.

Many thumbs up to Days.

Re: Days Milton Keynes

Rang Days yesterday, in a panic as my clutch had gone on my Punto. He took the car in yesterday afternoon about 3pm, gave me a courtesy car and I got a phone call this morning at about 10:30. Job done!
And as I couldn't get there to collect it before he closed at 1pm, he arranged to meet me there at 5pm instead after he'd done a few bits, to get my car.

He is a very nice man

At this rate, he's going to have his own fan club

Re: Days Milton Keynes

My service was 99.9% fine. Very impressed with customer service and work. Only downer were splashes of oil all over the coolant tank, I thought he could have wiped up these splashes, or am I just fussy!!!

Although on a plus at least it shows oil had been added/changed.

Overall best garage I have dealt with in a long time and I would 100% recommend and go back to for any thing needed on my car in future, especially now I am warranty free!

Re: Days Milton Keynes

I agree. I have a Cinq Sporting with troublesome rear brakes and David is always willing to sort them out for me at a good price. Also his servicing and prices can not be faulted.

Re: Days Milton Keynes

Recommended! My dad bought an Alfa 156 Sportwagon from a non-Alfa dealer. He had Days check it out before he handed over the cash and was told about a number of faults that he would have missed. He insisted on them being fixed. Dad raves about Day's knowledge and service - a real contrast to his many years of experience of Fiat ownership in MK. Remember Elmdene anyone?
