Fiat Dealers to Avoid

Avoid guest fiat Wolverhampton, payed to have a heater wiring loom fitted there cost aroud 250£ all that did was cut the end off where the burnt out wires were and soldered the new ones on.

About a 10-15 min job charged me 1.5 hours labour plus the parts that weren't even fitted absoloute joke.

Is it a grande you have? Loom is £80 and fitting time is 1.25. Mmmmmm I'd be straight on to Fiat customer services for a refund!

unfortuanley I was unaware at the time. only until the same fault happened again I took it too mate too get it looked at, he then showed me what had been done. it did last about two years though.

Donald MacKenzie of Inverness gave me a great service and fixed my engine when I had a problem when touring the highlands in my ducato motorhome

This is the bad dealer thread not the good dealer thread.
Unless you want others to "avoid them" so you can have them to yourselves :D

Desira norwich today for warranty work. First visit very impressed work all done and did a couple of extra bits. However got to go back for 1 to 2 days for a dash rattle dash gotta come out. Was very pleased with the whole experience and when asking about the 2 year 18000 mile service was told it wasnt necessary as it had already had a service when bought elsewhere. Very happy so far.

Avoid Pentagon Fiat in Huddersfield.

My sister brought a 2014 panda lounge twinair from there as a pre reg, within 30 days and 1200 miles the car lunched it's engine. Oil pump had seized on the M1 and as expected, the car died very fast with about 10 seconds warning.

She rejected the car and the dealer was so useless it's unreal. They refused to accept liability and repeatedly told her fiat was responsible and not them.

She went to court and got her money back in full after 8 months of fighting. Incidentally no one from the dealer came to contest...go figure. Now owns another panda from a better dealership!

Apologies for not having flagged these two garages sooner. I went through so much grief with both of them with my Stilo Schumacher GP, that by the time it was all sorted, after nearly a year of crap, I neglected to pass it on. I strongly advise to avoid Bishops of Guildford....absolutely clueless, and act like a bunch of cowboys, both at front and rear of house. I had to take them to Court to resolve my issues of damage caused and failed works. The other place, which still makes my blood boil, are Wilsons, Kiln Lane, Epsom. They are a massive car group with cars and customers treated like brain dead money making machines. You are lead to believe that your fiat is taken to a fiat service area and sorted by specialist fiat mechanics, rubbish.....it just goes in with all the other makes and models and gets worked on by any of the large amount of mechanics. I basically had massive issues and problems with them after putting the gp in for cam belt and utility belts.....the first time I was told it was ok to be picked up, by the time I got there it wasn't ready and they admitted fitting the wrong parts. I had to wait a couple of days while they fitted the right ones. Then having picked it up again it sounded really bad, classic cherping of the axhillary belt. I took it back, they tried to actually convince me I was imagining it.....after a mahoosive row they agreed to look and found that it was one of the new tensioners they had fitted incorrectly and so another several days to sort it....after it all they agreed to resolve the issues by 1/2 the original cost, by this stage they wanted rid of me as much as I wanted to get rid of them! The car was never as quiet or as reliable as it had been before they got hold of it, which always grated. They all act and talk to customers like they are numpties but sadly continue to just rake it in. There were so many other dissatisfied customers, it amazed me they continued to be filled with cars.....it proved that if you are a massive car group then you don't care how many customers don't come back and or how many think your absolute rubbish....I eventually found a small specialist in Surrey which are a hidden gem pls see my other garage post for their details.

Once took a punto to autoworld in chesterfield for a mot beliving I would get a better service going to a main dealer and was hit with a bill of £53 when the government set the MOT price at £40 ,it turned out they don't actually do mot s and autoworld took my car to a mot station down the road and that's where the extra £13 came in ,never been back to autoworld since despite them offering another MOT for free next time after I put a complaint in .

Stay as far away from 'Westover Fiat' as you can, in fact stay away from the whole of the 'Westover' group!!
Had a Peugeot, and had a problem with it, local garage siad it needed Peugeot to diagnose as they didn't have the software... Peugeot charged me over £100, and, the car came back WORSE than it went in. Returned it TWICE to be rectified, and EACH time it came back with a different problem.. Ended up going elsewhere to get the last problem sorted, as Westover were playing the 'not our fault' card for so long, I just got sick and tired of trying to get some sense from them..
Also, Daughter took her Cinquecento SX (899cc) into Westover Fiat for it's MOT, as it was near to where she worked. They asked her when the cambelt was last done. As she didn't know, they suggested that they do it for her, as they ''couldn't do the MOT unless they knew when it was done, to avoid damage to the engine'
Daughter phoned me, I said that cambelt didn't need doing, (899cc is OHV, and CHAIN driven!) she told Westover, they said it needed doing, quoted £350+ vat, and refused to do MOT unless it was done!!
I went to Westover Fiat, spoke to the 'service' person, who insisted that it needed a cambelt doing. 'Mechanic' was called, and he insisted he had done one only the other day, and I was wrong thinking it had a chain drive!!
Pointed out to him that he might have done a cambelt on a Fiat Cinquecento the other day, but not an 899 version, probably a 'sporting' which has an 1100 OHC engine.. Still he refused to accept this , and insisted we had a cambelt done before they would MOT the car!!
Needless to say, we refused, took the car away, used my local garage and it passed, straight through!!
If my daughter had not checked with me, she would have been charged for something that they could not have done!! but would still have probably charged her anyway!!
Wrote a letter of complaint, yet NEVER heard ANYTHING back!!

WESTOVER GROUP are a bunch of COWBOY's across their WHOLE multi-franchise.....

If you live in N. Ireland stay as far away as possible from DONNELLY BROS. they are totally useless, they couldn't diagnose a fault if it was staring at them. Apparently they have highly trained technicians must have trained for a week.
