i have a fiat punto 2001, could anyone tell me what a key symbol with code written by it means on my dash board?

Its the immobiliser warning lamp welcome to the forum

thanks, it only stayed on for a second and the car started fine. is it anything to worry about?

i'm pretty sure that it should come on with first turn of the key and will then go out so shouldnt think anything to worry about

Best bet may be to pop it in the punto technical section and someone should be able to help you

I cant think off hand if my code light is one of the first or last lights to go out, but if its enough to make it stand out something may be slightly amiss and dont know punto's immobiliser system
