Cam Belt Change for a 20V Coupe

I wonder if anyone out there can help me???

My Fiat Coop is up for a Cam Belt change and the main dealer from where i bought my baby is looking to charge £800 for the repair! (Going faint headed again!!)

From being a fccuk member, i know that PowerFiat in Basildon are a great place to go but unfortunately I live in Wales and was wondering if there was anybody online that could recommend any places where i could get the work done and try and save a few pennies?

:)

Have a look at Motormech Birmingham, FCCUK members know Paul to be a wizard with Coupe's. Fraction of dealer prices, twice the service (not difficult) no YTS or Numpty's working on your pride n joy.

Beat me to it. He does other cars, my tipo and an alfa 156 2.5 v6 shared a stable for the day with around 5 coupes. I don't think there is thing he doesn't know bout them. The bullring shopping centre is just around the corner if you're stuck for something to do.

If you don't fancy the trip to Motormech (who are excellent), I know some Coupe owners have used Cloverleaf in Gloucester.

While I would add a recommendation for Paul, dragging up several old threads to recommend him isn't something I'd do...

As you no doubt know depending on engine fitted changing the timing belt is either cheap or very expensive but if your a bit rough & got a large pry bar you can easily avoid the £800 bill

the problem though is disturbing the hydraulics. you can move the engine over just enough to change the belt etc but once disturbed and stretched, the hydraulics tend to leak after.
