Re: clutch problem

Hi, any reply to this guy?

I've got the exact same problem on my 2.0l 20v HLX.

My peddle did exactly the same. Peddle doesn't sit on the floor, but just before it went completely, it felt spongy and the biting point was just about on the floor. Any ideas?

Re: clutch problem

Easy enough job to fix. Just check that it is the slave by feeling around for oil when pedal pressed, and check inside footwell for oil from master.

Re: clutch problem

hi,i am sorting this problem out for a friend and bleeding the slave cylinder did not work but i did find that the clutch lever that the slave pushes was loose and easy to move suggesting a more serious problem with the clutch ie broken fork on bottom of clutch lever or release bearing shot either way my friend said it had been gradualy getting worse trying to get decent gear change instead of sorting it sooner, any of you had a similar prob, cheers, john.

Re: clutch problem

If you can disengage the clutch enough to select gears by moving the arm then the pressure plate is either failed, weakened or broken into little pieces.

Doesn't sound good either way as the arm should be very very hard to move.
