Worcester Gloucester area Fiat specialist ? Cambelt.

Looking for someone to change the cambelt (and pump) on my 2008 1.4 500. Belt needs changing because of age, not miles, and as engine is super sweet and low miles I don't want to risk anything going wrong !
Any recommendations ? Manual implies that early 500s need a special tool to set correct tension and I want that done right so prefer someone who knows that Fiat 1.4 well.
Thanks

I don't use garages so not gonna be much help i'm afraid... Is it a 1.4 8v or 16v? I have the 16v timing tools, but i've never worked on a 1.4 8v engine though, can't imagine it would be particularly hard, looking in our 500 engine bay (1.3 multijet) I think access would be the biggest problem.

The 1.2 is a commonly used engine..but the 1.4 may need more specialist care.

The FIAT dealer in Evesham have been established long enough to have possibly spawned some local indy support. Charlie

Pains me to say the Fiat Dealer in Evesham shut up shop a long while ago, Used to live there. There site is not only Ford, despite a very old Fiat Service sign hanging outside, they don't do any work on them anymore.

If your up for a trip, Motormech in Brum are very good, have a epic reputation and I don't think you can do better in the Midlands. As I now live in Brum give me a message for a Fiat chat over beer

bad news..

the 2 x Oxford area indy workshops were the mechanics of a closed main dealer.. just wondered if that happened elsewhere..

Seems not I'm afraid. Most indies around the area are blissfully unaware of Fiats for the most part. One tried to fill my sisters Twinair Panda with 10w40 and questioned if it was faulty due to the characteristic of being very thrummy.

The old Evesham Fiat dealer now won't touch anything without a Ford badge on, even if it's a Emergency, A friend went there with his Citroen with a bit of gravel stuck between the brake disk and pad and the associated loud grinding and lack of braking performance, he was happy to pay and just needed some help as driving any further would have been a bad idea. They basically shooed him out of the door.

I'm lucky my local indie, while not a Fiat specialist in the slightest is a anal bugger who before he works on anything spends ages checking and digging out info and isn't afraid to ring another garage or specialist if stumped. A dying breed it seems.
