Hi looking to book my 2015 Punto Easy+ in for manufacturers service at my local Bosch Service Centre. Any ideas what parts they would use for a manufacturers service is Fiat or Bosch? What brand of oil, brake fluid, engine coolant and screen wash can I expect them to use? Also do these garages tend to road test vehicles?

ask them..,
then you'll find out..

it's the reason I stopped using FIAT main dealers..
FIAT use Selenia,
the dealerships use whatevers cheap.. "shell in the last instance"

oh, and they charged me for fluids that didn't actually get to the car..:tosser:

a decent Indy will use whatever you specify, or supply.

Thanks for that. My local Bosch centre is a little reluctant to divulge this information. They are an approved Fiat service centre but are attached to a Volkswagen dealership. They have already told me they would use Vw screen wash. Do you expect they will just use Volkswagen branded fluids which meet the specifications rather than Fiat originals?

Is a Bosch garage likely to use original Fiat specified fluids and oil for a manufacturers service or just what they have that meets the specifications?

Only reason they would be reluctant to tell you what they use is because it's probably not Fiat's recommended stuff.

On further discussion with the garage they have confirmed they will use the following fluids, lubricants as there standard service any others I would have to pay for them to order. Standard service charge is £99 for a minor service and valet so quite reasonable. Fluids they will use Volkswagen DOT4 brake fluid, Volkswagen G13 (red) coolant, Volkswagen screen wash and Quantum oil. Are these fluids all suitable for my 2016 1.4 Easy+ Punto?

hi, general fluids to a UK spec. are fine. :)

just the oil - you'll need to do your research ,;)
see what YOUR engine is supposed to have, then see what the VW version is..and then check that they stock it.

Thanks Charlie. Just so I understand the jargon in the manual. What should a 1 year service for a Punto consist of. Would a minor service suffice? How often would you recommend having a major and minor service?

all down to the use the cars getting,

if it's driven HARD, or only short journeys..
it'll want doing more often ( at shorter mileage intervals)
than if it does 200 miles of motorway a day:)

As a GUIDE-

basically oil and oil filter change every 10 to 15 thousand,
air filter and pollen filter every 20 , along with spark plugs

cambelt, waterpump every 5 years or 50K

brake fluid and antifreeze 3 to 5 years

if a car does less than 8 k a year.. just oil and filter

congestion makes air filters dirty quicker..,
as I said it's all down to your use of the car..,

Charlie
