Hi, I need some work done to my 9 year old panda- cam belt, water pump, tyres, brakes....) can anyone suggest a reliable garage in West Berkshire please? I live in Newbury. Also if anyone's had any of this done recently, how much should I be paying?!?
Thanks!!!

Hi, and welcome, :)
the mechanics of Black and White - Cold Ash
are now just WEST of Newbury

I've not used them since B+W shut..,
but others in the "garages" section have mentioned them recently..,

to be honest ..Panda's are simple to work on, :worship:

and with brakes and tyres.. you'll probably get a better deal at a national chain like,
Nationwide / kwikfit, etc - as their labour rates are lower.., - and often do online discount vouchers..

do let us know what you are quoted,

SB1500 did a lot of this recently - but 400 miles away..

With the help of some guides on FiatForum, you can learn easily about just how simple it is to do the Panda cam belt, water pump and tensioner. The full kit is on the website Shop4Parts for not too much money. Maybe like £50 I think?! And to replace any one of those three, involves the same work so trust me you can do them all at the same time - find and check out those guides and threads I started in the past and your questions should be answered. If not, make another thread and everyone will help you with questions / concerns.

As for tyres, phone up, get some quotes. If you feel like going on the different tyre brand sites to find out which exact tyres you want then go for it, and find a garage who sells and fits them. But to be honest, any new tyres you buy will be safe and sufficient. Just that some focus on better fuel economy, others are quiet, some last longer.. there is no ultimate tyre but they're all safe and that's the main thing. Try to get some brand name that seems reputable for the sake of warranty is my recommendation!

Brake pads are so so easy on the Panda, easier than on many other common cars like VWs. As for the disks, I haven't done them but I don't think that's a big job either. Might want a cheap brake tool kit from eBay to make the job easier.

That's all assuming you want to give it a go yourself, you'll save hundreds if you do.

If not, local people may be able to share tips on garages. I'm in N. Ireland so unfortunately too far away to know your area!
