Fiat website quote & dealer

'Our Authorised Fiat Dealers have modern, fully equipped workshops, staffed by Fiat trained technicians with the expertise to maintain your car to the highest possible standards.'

A dealer in Hertfordshire I visited recently had a 'technian' under a car with a spanner & lead light in his hand standing on three wooden pallets stacked on top of each other to reach up where he needed. Are the wooden pallets modern & part of the fully equipped workshops? The workshop was also as dark as a cave.

As they busted a part on my car I dropped the local Health & Safety at the local council an email telling them if they call in they can see the practice for themselves...small revenge for saying 'it was like that when you bought it in'.

What's a technian?

Perhaps you also need to contact David Attenborough and tell him you found a new species for his "life on earth" programme.

The Technian - Habitat: the dark, dank corners of a Fiat Dealer's workshop. Nests on wooden pallets.

35 maybe for health reasons but no subsitute for experience!

Also on health issue what about the constant exposure to car exhaust gases after all cars have EOBD to cut emissions and there are very few other trades/workers that would stand to work in such conditions, day after day of exhaust fumes, the cold, even canteens that double up as a toilet...yep seen it all.Let alone a average of £5-10K of tools (plus constant updating/loss of tools) the tech has to buy its no wonder no one wants to work in the motor trade anymore. There is a famous saying in the trade....'once in the motor trade you'll never get out'...
