I am about to put my car back onto standard springs so will need rear camber adjusted.

I called my local f1 COLCHESTER and the guy was very insistent that my car has a solid beam rear axle and rear camber cant be adjusted even though I kept telling him it isn't and is fully adjustable. He said he don't know the car but is sure it cant be adjusted, i explained its the same as a vectra C and he still insisted it wasn't adjustable.

He then also tried to convince me that the Ka and punto was the same underneath but had different suspension. i said no its KA and 500 that share the same floor pan he said no Ka just has a fiat engine.

He then says bring it down we guarantee to beat any price, I said no thanks I would rather drive and hour and half to elite and pay more to some one who knows what they are doing.

so looks like i wont be visiting there at all.

at least he appeared to know what camber is, :p
amazing the places who try and do your TRACKING :bang:

i went to europit in the end where i normally get tyres fitted, bloke said you are better off going to our other branch as they do a better job than us, so i thanked him for his honesty and drove to other branch got front and rear all adjusted for 50 quid, I'll do another thread with before and after screen shots tomorrow, not as good as elite as they just adjust till it goes green where as elite get it dead in middle of the box( hunter alignment machine)

I have a worksheet from Glyn Hopkins that says they changed the spark plugs on a diesel engine

It was in the servce history that came with the car. Don't know if they charged for them.
Also had a bain dealer change the clutch on my 924 Turbo (Transaxle with rigid tube so they disturb the rear suspension) and it came back with rubbish handling. Checked the paper work and the was a computer aliginment sheet with completely the wrong settings. They insisted it was right (the computer says so) and would not use the settings I gave them until I brought in a copy of the factory specifications.

Well 4 months and 5k miles later i have no edges left on my tyres, should have took it to elite for extra £50 would have got another year or 2 out of my tyres,

mrs dave bought the new tyres for my birthday and it cost me £184 to have them fitted and suspension set up properly.

I used to get europit to fit the tyres for £10 each, but they have now put price up to £21 each more expensive than elite and even more than kwick fit.

email will be sent to their head office
