You delt with them personally as i've only ever heard bad things from then/

Auto Intergrale are supposed to be Sh!t hot though on most things Italian (They built the Yintegrale if you've seen that)

Re: UNO Turbo tuning south England

i have to say i've spoken to him a couple of times, always courteous and knowledgeable, advised to go for a late model 1301cc mk1, and from the couple of cars i've seen he has worked on very good work. but price wise, i was shocked at the expense involved, coupled with a parts price list that would make most bank managers cry

there is a guy, charles, runs a garage in north west london, who comes to the italian nights at the ace cafe, he appears to be quite well known among a lot of the fiat owners who turn up, and seems well regarded, i'll try and dig his number out

there is another though, and i only mention him as a warning, based in north london, i've met him once, and didn't have a problem with him, however there are plenty in the uno turbo community who are seriously cheesed off with him, and what they claim is a shockingly low standard of work, check the posts in the turbo collective site on msn

there were also rumours of another firm just to the west of london, who have seriously bodged another uno, when claiming to be masters of it

i make no claim for the accuracy of the above, these are only what i have heard and seen written about, if someone knows better please feel free to put the record straight

Re: UNO Turbo tuning south England

I dont trust Avanti either to be honest, i seen cock up stories by them in papers and they have ripped quite a few people off. Ask Dunc and he will tell you the same.

The other guy you mention from north london fitted my turbo and fifth injector and also set up my car. I also got a bit of bodywork done by him and i can honestly say i didnt have a problem with him or any of his work. And if there was anything i wasnt happy with he didnt hesitate to put things right.
I know about some of the Stories on turbo collective and talked to him about that first before i parted with my cash to hear his side of things. The first story involved a hybrid turbo he sold to a customer which blew up about a year later or maybe earlier i cant remember how long it lasted but it wasnt down to supplying a dodgy turbo but it was down to a guy known as ALDO of extreme autos who fiddled with the boost to such a silly level that the turbo blew up! Aldo is also responsible for ****ing around with many uno turbos. Mines included, he charged one guy 7 grand in total for a job including respray, engine etc and the chaps wheel falls off just 20 miles down the road after collecting the car. The same guy from north london did all the engine work and when the customer had a private vehicle examiner come to look at his car they reported that the only thing that was right with the car was the engine, everything else was an accident waiting to happen. And lastly the biggest reason why many hate the guy in north london is cos of an engine he built for someone which was apparently ****ed. However according to the guy he built the engine 2 years previously for A DIFFERENT customer who then sold it to the guy on Turbo collective two years later and told the guy the spec of the engine but according to the guy who bought the engine 2 years later it was ****ed and none of the work had been done. So either a different engine to the one built by the guy in north london or the guy who bought it ragged da **** outta it. And as a goodwill gesture the guy in north london did the work on the engine again for FREE just so that people wouldnt slag his work off, i saw him doing the work with my own eyes and yet the guy on turbo collective says that the work wasnt done!!
Due to rumours on turbo collective the damage has already been done i guess. But i on the other hand prefer to see things for my self and decide rather then judge on others word of mouth or meer rumours.

Whoa i've never written this much in a post in all my life lol

Re: UNO Turbo tuning south England

yeah i spoke to the owner of the £7k car, when he was selling some bits off, bitter and twisted is putting it mildly, however i felt since he was looking at a court proceeding of some sort, i'd leave the names off the post,

there is another garage close to avanti, in lydford, the owner used to work for frank, and i'm sure would have many of the skills required

i thought evo engineering shut down?

Re: UNO Turbo tuning south England

Yeh well Lobster exposed him on Turbo collective way before i ever said anything so either way people know about the cock ups done by him on the turbo collective site. I think he has closed down his business now anyway which can only be a good thing for uno turbos i guess as he wont be able to cock up any more, he even cocked up HIS OWN fiat coupe for f*ck sake lol
let me tell you some of the sly things he did, he tried to supply me with cheap**** spark plugs and charge me Triple the price of what they were worth, tried 2 steal my car battery and put in a battery that was nearly dead and then he wondered why it didnt start? Hmmmmm maybe cos THAT ISNT MY BATTERY i told him, he didnt do a very good job fitting my hormann bodykit, he tampered around with bits and pieces on the car like my exhaust pipe, water pump etc switching bits around with rusty crap and eventually when my head gasket blew as a result he said my block was cracked and that i need a new engine lol and surprise surprise he had a "spare" engine just lying around so convieniently. It was only after thinking that so many things going wrong all at the same time seems far too dodgy and so i told him thanks but no thanks i'll get someone else to look at it and refused to pay him his money as he didnt get the car running and wanted me to pay him for taking the engine apart to see the damage basically, which i thought was outrageous. I quite politely told him where to go and then took my car to the guy in north london who got it started on the SAME DAY lol Cracked block? nah more like Crack head mate lol
