Does anyone know of a good garage that does diesel diagnostics in the Denham south bucks area. Even a mobile one that can come to us would be good.

what's the issue..??, if it's putting lights up on the dash--then it will be easy to scan for faults,
MultiECUScan is great for this,

Palio + scout live not faraway, they may well be able to give a decent opinion on the local companies,

Thanks, no lights on dash. Need it doing as hubby put £10 of petrol in it ,when tank was empty he drove for 5 miles, realised what he had done drove back to petrol station and filled it up to a full tank with diesel. This was 6 months ago and every now and then there is a slight hesitation in the engine. Put in the diesel redex yesterday and this seemed to do some good, but hubby said last night the car was jerking at about 1500-2500 revs.


Is this the redex clearing the engine, or has my hubby ruined my nice car?

Hi, the parts the wrong fuel could damage would've been effected straight away,

and IF there was internal damage it would be getting worse + worse, conking out in a few hundred miles..,

sounds to me like a change of oil + filters (oil + diesel) would be a good idea,

and then see how it goes,
what vehicle / engine is it..??,

It is a Gande Punto Sporting 1.9 Diesel, without the DPF, with 130bhp. Lovely car to drive. MOT tomorrow so will see what happens then. Thanks for advice will get filters and oil changed tomorrow. Do you think it could have damaged the fuel filter?


Also hubby says it felt worse after the redex was put in with a full tank of diesel and is getting worse, i.e light throttle with low revs = jerking motion.

good practice is to use an injector cleaner ,
into the new fuel filter , then it'll clean out the injectors VERY quickly,

then see what the emissions are like with the MOT.
clean oil should always aid diesel emissions,
BUT best to dump oil AFTER the FUEL system flush, then do MOT

We've used the new Redex Diesel fuel system cleaner, with injector cleaner combined and it seems worse after this. I wonder if its because its doing it's job and cleaning it out!? It's jerking about abit, as I say!
Will get oil change, plus fuel filter change, then add some more Redex injector cleaner, unless you know of a better cleaner? Thanks again.

I used Forte injector cleaner, -recommended by my garage( and on here)
put that into the diesel filter canister,

start + run car for a few minutes / short drive,


then dump the oil ,new oil + filter
and you are done.

post results in the GP section.. so other 1.9 owners will add their experiences.. (could well be a MAF type issue)
