PLATTS STOKE ON TRENT Has anybody had bad after sale service from this garage? I am getting nowhere with them . It seems, once they get your money they dont want to know. The passengers sun visor fell off two hours after I left the garage, and I got three months warranty instead of the year I had agreed with the salesman. Every time I phone I am told it will be sorted out . Twice I have been told, the visor was there and would be sent, and the warranty was been sorted out "Its all in hand sir"
Twice I have been asked, "have you not got It yet? I will see to it right away". Today salesman No. 2 said "have you not got it yet and by the way salesman No. 1 says the car only came with a three month warranty, but I will make sure the visor is sent".

So do I - 1/ involve the credit card company
2/ take them to the small claims court in Inverness
3/ walk away

I gave It one more try, on Friday I managed to get a message to their M D .
Result visor arived Monday, warranty extendion arived on Wedensday and the salesman rang to apologize.

This place is just round the corner from my house. Used them a few times for parts in the past. Never bought a car from them though.

Instead of dealing with the sales numptys, pop down to the parts department and ask them to look up if they have had to order the visor. If they have, it's probably sat on the shelf unclaimed. If not then your salesman is telling porkies.

I work in parts (and have done for a few dealers now) and it will be easy enough for the parts dept to find out if they should have ordered that visor. All dealers seems to use modified versions of the same software. Its really quite easy.

Shocking company and service. Took my van for service, following the service the van had not moved from the drive for a couple of weeks before taking for MOT, told it had coolant leak, had a look and it was as plain as the nose on your face.....did they even look at the engine? doesnt look like it, if so they would have seen it. Took it back for them, they fixed it, a new bottom hose clip.....£70

You have been warned!!!!

I nearly ordered my new car from them but i had a nagging feeling to go fiat in newcastle. Dont quite now why but my gut said no to platts

Yes I've had problems with Platts and Yes once they have made the sale you are history,my advice is call in person and keep calling until they sort it.
they really don't like you making loud noises in there showroom.
It's not what they like don't play to there needs but to yours if they have said 12 months warranty then 12 months you will have don't roll over because some bum has said you have only three months. If you need any more assistance just ask
HE WHO SHOUTS LOUD GETS HERD

Dreadful experience with a lying salesman here...bullsh#t after bullsh#t, screwed up the sale trying to screw me over for a solution to THEIR problem, finally got me a car but i wasted hours phoning the brick wall vacant sounding secretary ... They must have left 50 'notes on people's desks' with a promise that they would call back .... They never did. After all that the salesman said they were treating the car with the paint protection system they sell... As a sorry for the inconvenience I'd had, plus i asked for a set of mats for the same reason, I'm quite easy going and understand things don't always go to plan, so these token gestures wouldn't have cost them anything but i would have been satisfied with them. Unfortunately I've not realised that the mats 'I'd been given specially' were actually standard with all new tipos, and the protection system is supposed to come with a big pack of after care stuff... You guested it... No sign of this. I seriously doubt the protection crap was applied at all... I actually think the salesman is a genuine pathalogical lier !

I'm never setting foot in their sales department again.

AVOID

Very little of this suprises me. I worked with the guy who runs the parts dept. at Stafford 20-odd years ago and he was hopeless then. The place i work for has given up on them for parts now and use Lancaster in Birmingham. If anyone needs a reliable garage in the area that does'nt fib then give me a PM

I read off their website once that every used car comes with one key. As a lot of their stock appeared to be paid for and pre registered by them, that would make them incredibly untidy and disorganised. Or they haven't lost anything and want £000's in extra profit by "ordering" a flat blade key. Wouldn't go near them.

I don't work for them but Available Car get my vote. Every car comes with 2 keys and a jobcard of work carried out. My son bought his 500 Abarth from them and many of our customers at work have as well. Granted, nowheres perfect but these guys seem ok.

May I just say I've previously dealt with Available Car and I had a good experience, but another branch I had a shocking one that managed to void my manufacturer warranty on my old car.

As you said nowhere is perfect but somewhere like that is a fair shout as most of the time [emoji106]
