Thumbs up Cowans Garage - Tranent

Get passed the weird local service - only the manger will approach you, the mechanics ignore strangers at all costs! - and you get good honest service and advice.

I recently needed to a cambelt change and the mechanic talked me through it - no hassle to buy.

I regularly get Lancia parts without any hassle, and since they use the old FIAT parts CD, prices are lower too!

One time the tills were down, but they still let me have the parts there and then - (I promised to pay later!)

Angry Re: Cowans Garage - Tranent

Bought a Punto 60S from Arnold Clark in Glasgow in 2001 - Big Mistake!!! Sold it after 15 months due to various build problems and major dealer incompetence!!! Bought an Astra which I'm very happy with, but did like the tidy handling etc that the Punto had (although not much performance from the 1.2 8v). Would like to try another 'hotter' Punto like the HGT, and feel that had I had a decent dealer for the first car, all my problems would have been ok. Interested in reading your opinion on Cowans, as I now live quite near them and a work-mate has a 2001 Punto which he has never had any probs with and reckons that Cowans are a good, honest, and reliable dealership. My previous dealer - Arnold Clarks - were incompetent, unreliable, and seemed to manage to bugger up more things than they managed to fix - ruined my car buying experience, and endless hassle running backwards and forwards to the delaership. They just want your money, then you can P!** Off coz they don't want to know.
