Dealeships in Portsmouth Area

hey guys,

looking at buying a new Bravo and am concious of the Fiat dealers reputation, having read a lot of posts it can be really hit or miss.

Can anyone recommend a decent dealer in the Pompey area??

cheers

Re: Dealeships in Portsmouth Area

I realise this,

I have read most of the threads about dealers and as was stated, one of the threads was very old, and obviously dealers can be hit and miss.

However.... having spoken to a lot of people they have warned me off Perrys of Portsmouth - i have had my first encounter when i went in to book a test drive on the new Bravo (i have fallen in love with it!!): 1) No representitive was around so i ended up leaving my details with the Peugot Rep and 2) the feckers couldn't be bothered to ring me back.... i mean i want to spend a wodge of cash with them and they cant be arsed......

Sewards in Havant seem hit and miss - i am going to have a look tomorrow....

Not sure on the one down in Sarisbury Green but i know the rep used to be not great but maybe will have changed....

Mill Lane in Aldershot seems to be given decent reviews....

so can anyone back these assumptions up with recent experiences???

thanks!

Re: Dealeships in Portsmouth Area

We've got Perrys Fiat up here near Oxford (Aylesbury) & they don't get good reviews either so id be inclined to steer clear. The one off Fiat dealerships seem to have better results than the larger dealer groups from what i can tell.

I don't know anything about Seward, never even heard of them, but that's not to say theyre no good ofcourse, so maybe someone else maybe able to advise you on them. I have heard of Mill Lane but dunno how good they are. Don't recall hearing bad things mind you.

If youre prepared to travel abit further to Basingstoke, ive heard lots of good things about Alan Gibson Fiat which is there. They did very well in the Fiat Forum dealer survey too. (Perrys Aylesbury branch were at the bottom if i remember rightly).

Another one that gets a few positive comments (not always on here tho) is PDH Garages. They used to have a branch in Worthing but that looked to have been replaced by a new retail park when i went past there on route Brighton last year. Fiat.co.uk does show a PDH in Worthing though, so maybe theyve got a new site. Might be worth checking that out too.

Id probably give Alan Gibson a go if it was me. The Bravo seems hugely better made than the Grande Punto so trips to the dealer should hopefully be few & far between, but if you do have to go, one trip to Basingstoke is probably better than several trips to a more local dealer who can't fix a problem you may have.

Let us know how you get on & what you decide!

Re: Dealeships in Portsmouth Area

Hi there, i am from the Portsmouth area. I ordered my new 500 from the Sarisbury Green dealer. I saw a guy called Mike who was fantastic, extremely helpful and on the ball. I was greeted almost immediately as i stepped onto the forecourt. My car is on order still so i haven't dealt with them too recently although they called me to advise me of my cars progress which i was very impressed about. Give them a try, I would recommend them.
Good Luck
