Ok, so here's an update.

I popped into Stoneacre FIAT today and had a chat with the Service Manager, Ian, who as usual was helpful and friendly.

We got chatting about the FIAT Forum and Club Stilo and he said that he and any of his technicians would be more than willing to give advice or instruction on technical issues, recalls, or simply fitting parts or products to your FIAT.

He offered advice and technical bulletins should John or I need them for the Club Stilo members. The techies here are very brand loyal and commited to FIAT, I've had experience with a chap called Simon and he seems to know his stuff.

I have to say that this dealership has improved somewhat, but this is to be expected as they have now been open for a year. I believe in their commitment to improve customer services and relations. Whenever I speak to the staff they are always helpful and try their best to resolve any issues you may have. They always accommodate you with a courtesy car or will give you a lift to work, town, or where ever.

I ordered some side skirts today and the parts advisor (Ian, yes, another one) matched the price that I had been quoted from other dealerships, (£130) which will save me traveling to get a cheaper deal. He too will always try his best to get you a fair price.

Apparently, this dealership was voted number one in the UK this year, by FIAT UK mind you and not the customers.

So overall, things are improving, they are really trying and if they keep the FIAT franchise long term and continue with their good intention, you never know, before long it may be the customers voting it number one FIAT dealership!

Stoneacre FIAT Peterborough.

I had to use these guys again last week and the service I've received from them was spot on, this dealership has improved massively and I have no reservations about recommending them to people, keep up the good work Stoneacre FIAT!

I too have found them to be good, fast courteous, cheap and helpful. Loan cars are available and they can fit you in at short notice.

What do you think to.....................................

I had my side-skirts refixed last week at Stoneacre as they came loose.

They said they'd order a mounting kit in and as soon as it arrived they'd do the work for me. A couple of days later the Service Manager phones me and says "we can book it in, your mounting kit has arrived". I know from making enquiries that the kit isn't supplied seperately and cannot be purchased individually, so I asked him how they managed to get one, he said that it was a 'special order' from FIAT as he called in a favour with the Area Manager.

This is the funny bit, after the work was complete I went to collect my car and got talking to one of the technical staff. I asked how they'd got the clips that had been so unobtainable, his response was, "we had a new boxed set of skirts in the stores so we stole the clips out of there and returned the skirts to FIAT as incomplete".

So, ok, they got the job done, but why feed all the spiel, why lie, why not just tell the truth? Talk about a Service Manager bigging himself up!

Stoneacre FIAT Peterborough Service Booking!

Just booked mine in, Stoneacre FIAT Peterborough, £235, a rip off if you ask me, but it'll be the last time FIAT see my car to cover my warranty.

I phoned an independent just out of interest, £146, using genuine FIAT parts, so why is there such a big difference???

Anyway, my car has covered 16,000 miles to date, does it really warrant a 24,000 mile service ???

I look forward to your comments.

Cheers!

!
Higher overheads, surely, therefore has to be met in labour chargeout rate.

yes i think its the same with all fiat dealers then?... the last time fiat saw my car was the 24k service.. they left it in such a state.. oil and brake fluid (that peeled off paint!!) everywhere. they never even washed it. thats when Fiat and I parted company..... i dont mind paying them at all. I would even pay £250 for a service, if they actually did stuff right. Like vallet it after they are finished and take pride in their work... sadly they cant be arsed.

other Marques get it right...

Well if this is the case Im moving to Peterborough - Grimsby Stoneacre, is not one to be praised. I was missing the small plastic gromit from where the grab handle should be on the drivers side, I explained to them in detail what I needed and they said that the drivers side doesn't have a grab handle, - this I know I replied, its the small plastic gromit caps that replace the handle if there was to be one - they said they understood and told me it would be a couple of days. I rang 1 WEEK later and they placed me through to the parts dept, where I was informed my rubber door seal had arrived - WHAT!!!!!!!!

I still haven't got the part I required and am calling in tomorrow to speak to them and actually show them what I need. Appaulling really. (n) to Grimsby - (y) Peterborough.

Ah.............................

that's one problem we don't have, the parts guy at Peterborough, Ian, is very knowledgable and helpful!

If he reads this he may even give me a discount on future purchases!

When you go in ask to speak to brian. He is very helpfull, also ask him to show you the printouts from eper the parts finding software. Compared to other software for other makes of vehicle, fiat is the most difficult i have ever come across. Most of the parts are in sections they should definately not be. Some parts can be so hard to find it can take hours.

No. Im from the lincoln branch.Brian Works at Grimsby. But i know brian and know that he is very helpfull and has a wealth of knowledge in fiat parts.

Glad to hear some Stoneacre dealerships are helpful ! The on near me (Hyde) operates in a way less desirable then what I have read on this thread. Stoneacre Hyde would do well to learn what Customer Service means, maybe look it up in a dictionary or something. The only people who I would recommend stoneacre's to after my somewhat disappointing episode would be my worst enemies, and as I all my worst enemies now appear to be located in Hyde (working for stoneacre's i might add) I see my dream come's true unless they, like me, would not buy a car of themselves. This is one un-happy puppy who would not buy a lolly pop of a stoneacre salesmen, cos if it tasted wrong and I took it back, i would get fed some B*******T that it was supposed to taste that way!
