anyone else looking forward to this?
got to say of the 3 'next gen' machines the WII is the most interesting for me.
unknown power but will be the lowest of the 3 big players.
revolutionary controller set up
backwards compatible(in a way)with all nintendo consoles/games
basically you can buy/download them from ninty and play them on the WII
500mb of flash memory for this and SD compatible
smallest console by miles
new zelda game :yum:
internet 'channels'
cheapest console by far as well(approx £180 inc 1 game)
comes out on my birthday if anyones buying ;)

of the 3 "next gen" machines only the Wii is actually next gen. the others are just cpu and memory upgrades. nintendo will be on a winner with this one. sony and microsoft will cry.

are they all completly useless when it comes to the busiest time of year, and best for impulse sales and gift sales???
you want them to be lining the shelfs, not a scramble over a precious few, and then bring the other 4 container ship loads of them over some time next year.

unfortunatly ninty want any WII on the shelf as a spoiler for sonys launch.
picture ther scene,we have the £500 sony ps3.
mum thinks well we have a PS2 so this is just newer one.
oh we have a sub £200 nintendo.
mum thinks ooh i had a nintendo years ago and loved it,whats that £300 less than that new PS2 thingamabob.
hmm we shall just wait till its back in stock and not bother with that sony thing

IMHO i think the wii will be the biggest disapointment ever, destoryed by it's own hype. I will still get one however but only becuase i waste my cash and it is fully backwards compatible with the gc and it is 6billion times less ugly than the gamecube (the dodgy purple box ruining my setup).

Now i know this is a bit of a shameless plug but i work as a PA at www.simplybidding.com, we have two of these Wii's available on our site.
Alot of you know me and i thought i'd just see if any of you wanted to try, someone won a PSP on the 2nd for 10p, and someone won a sat nav for 1p, and someone else won 4 hospitality tickets to Hibernian vs Hearts to meet players etc (worth £190 a seat) for 25p, everyone gets put off by the lowest unique part, but it is worth a go, i mean you can't complain, that guy paid £1 to bid and won for 10p and got a PSP.
We have loads of other items and are on 85 of the football clubs in the UK, and we are partners with Sussex CCC, get to watch all the matches free(office is based on the ground).
Anyway have a go if you like, i get no money out of this whatsoever and the worst thing is i can't even bid myself! So I'll have to pay full whack if i want 1! Think my boss is buying one for himself so we can all have a go before xmas lol!

I have a Wii coming my way for release day, I don't see why I should stick to just one console, besides I have to have it for research
exactly ;)
i can wait as i know they will sell out.probably get one next year.
i'll be honest i think ninty may have pulled a clever move here.
lower graphic power but with the success of social games such as singstar and buzz they could catch a chunk of occasional gamers.
sony on the other hand may have misjudged there market

Lines of avid gamers stretched around stores like Toys R Us as Nintendo launched its infamous Wii. With about 1.2 million units making it to the western shores, fans like Isaiah "Triforce" Johnson just had to be the first person to own one. So at midnight in New York City, Johnson was ceremoniously rang up by none other than Nintendo of America president, Reggie Fils-Aime. Not wanting to squander this opportunity away, Johnson quickly unwrapped his brand new Wii and had Fils-Aime autograph it personally.

Thousands of gamers lined up all around the United States each hoping to be one of the few able to purchase the Wiis in stock. Armed with over twice the amount of units as its competitor Sony which launched two days earlier, Nintendo hopes to make a splash with its North American debut. Nintendo also hopes to lure new gamers into the arena with unique games and unique gameplay mechanics with its motion sensor equipped controller.

The Nintendo Wii launched with a price of $250, in stark comparison to its competitors at $600 for a premium PS3 and $400 for the top of the line Xbox
