Hey all,

Looking to do a PS2 install in my Mk2 Punto before Skeggy so that if it starts raining and we have to cower in our cars then at least I will have some entertainment :D Anyone done a PS2 install in theirs? What components will I need? I don't want to run it off the car battery as that will flatten it in no time, was thinking of installing a larger ampage battery in the boot and having it also charged from the alternator, is this possible? I don't want tiny little screens as its pointless using it unless you can see what your playing but then again I dont want massive screens that are going to cost the earth.

Any recommendations?

Thanks
Dave

you need this kit, £120 ;) pm
brand new boxed, but we dont spend no time in our cars at skeggy,

It only has one screen dave, not very social is it :p

The one I saw at Stanford hall had two screens that are wider than that one :p Also not sure how I could connect up that inverter straight to a car battery, would need an in-line fuse for starters.

you need a split charging relay(check out caravan places etc for a cheaper ones)
Don't suppose you have a link for one so I know what I am looking at (my technical knowledge isn't too great).

Is it possible to connect it up to my stereo?

wow an inline fuse, forget it. too much work ;) :p
loads on ebay, have a trawl through them

as to outputting sound thats down to the kit you buy. i answered a post recently on this kind of thing

Dave how does your ps2 kit allow for sound? Does it have a way in which to connect to my car stereo?

I'll have a look on ebay in a min but as I am at work its a little awkward. This is starting to sound really expensive already. Haven't even got a PS2 yet :p

No amp Ryan due to the dodgy set-up capabilities in the Punto (damn u fiat). It should be possible to just connect it up to the stereo and use the speakers in the sound system. I don't see why it would be quiet though, the sound on my tv isn't quiet if I turn it up :p

I very much doubt I do, but I don't have the manual at work with me so I might be wrong (it's a pioneer one if any kind soul wants to look it up for me ;) ). I wouldn't wanna use headphones with it cos I think it would sound best with the car speakers (especially with racing games hearing and feeling that engine rev, mmmm :D

I've met u guys, what makes u think I wanna talk to u :p I was more thinking about not only Skeggy but for shows and such. We spent a lot of time sitting around at Stanford Hall not doing much when we could have been playing a social computer game :D

your TV has an amp in it! so does you ps2 but its crappy...

dont use an FM transmitter it will be ****e and if you really want one nip does to maplins it will ony cost about £1 to make one (i did it).

its always worth giving it a go to see how it sounds... buy a spare ps2 AV lead and hack it into your car and try it...

for the lcd i would get a Lilliput 7" XGA monitor they go on ebay for about £200 - £250 but they are awsome rrreeeeaaaalllly high res and had some little speakers built in.... or get the touchscreen version as for some reason it sells for less...

.... just looked on ebay and they have really dropped in price now... get this one its perfect :)
