Anyone played it yet?

What do you think of Steam?

The main problem for me is that in 10 - 20 years time, how are we gonna be able to replay old games...what if steam doesnt exist in that time? Im only 20 but there has been times when iv cracked out ps1 and stuck the first driver on...guess that wont be happening with games through steam..

I think loads of people on hear have been using steam for years?

I think I signed up 4-5 years ago when the orange box came out, it's supported and run by one of the biggest software companies around and many of the best games use it to prevent game piracy.

I really don't think it's going to disapear soon infact when it comes to longevity whatever computer I sign in on I can install and play my back catalogue, which was pretty cool when they made the half life series available on Mac which at the time I had just bought.

So now I can play the original half life 2 I bought 5 years ago on a brand new mac without even getting the disc out of the box.

When I was younger than you are now, 14 years ago I played the original half life still cited as one of the best games of all time and thanks to steam I can still play it now if I want to, and its the makers of half life (valve) who created steam so I really can't see them going anywhere soon, never say never but I think you're safe for now

was just a thought really.

I hate the thought if not being able to play old games just because steam vanished.

i doubt that will happen and some games, come with cd keys, im sure if it did disappear game producers would sort us out

yeah good point, was just when i was signing in i thought "****, what if steam went or something, my games are useless"
