Re: Psp...

Sorry to tell you this but
Sony have today confirmed that the PSP will miss its European release date in March.

The slip could mean a release date as late as June, with Kenichi Fukunaga, vice president of Sony Computer Entertainment International, claiming that the hand-held would still be released in the first half of the year.

With one million units of the PSP due to go on sale to coincide with its release in the US on March 24th, it seems a shortage of chips has meant that Sony cannot supply the US launch, eager gamers in Japan and a European launch. Thus Europe takes yet another hit in the seemingly two-tier treatment of the gaming world.
You could always get a jap import like i have, it will play all region games when they finally release it here.

Re: Psp...

Amazon are saying the 29th April and are taking pre-orders at £179.99 but that could still slip and i suspect it will.
I live pretty close to a large game importer and they have said it's unlikely to make it out by that date.

dont believe so, but you could be right. Having played one i would have said it was on par with a PS2 rather than a PS1

If you buy it from a good shop you can take it back there and they will replace or repair it... AND as i said above it will play games from ALL regions, UK, Japan, USA ,Canada...its multiregion.

James its easily on a PAR with the PS2. I think it can do some things better, if you see ridge racers running on it you will see what I mean. There's a world of difference between the PSP and the PS1...
Take a look at this and tell me thats not PS2 quality or better.
http://streamingmovies.ign.com/psp/a...min_wmvlow.wmv

I have been playing this game sinse it was released and it totally blew me away, I couldn't believe the graphics and sound for a handheld system it wont get any better than this for years...its well ahead of its time....
And no im not a sony fan, in fact I hate what they have done to the industry, but you can't deny the quality of this machine.. Awesome mate.

BTW...that video is absolutely crap compared to what it really looks like... its got a really hi res image and the cars and backgrounds are as clear as an Xbox game on my plasma tv running in pro scan..
