Re: sega megadrive

I have had mine since about 1990, and its never been put away.

It was last week when i was putting my DVD recorder in i still had not only the mega drive out and wired up (like it has been forever), and my play station (for tony hawk and matt hoffman), the wiring is still in place for my sinclair zx280 +2 and a C64.

Funny thing is i have changed the TV twice.

Mega drives rule- currently playing gouls n ghosts on it when i can as it is legend.

The sonic games are bar far the best. and lemmings!

Talking Re: sega megadrive

the best ever game on any system was super mario cart on the SNES. 2 player battle mode with those balloons was so addictive used to play on it for hours and hours, still get it out now and then for a quick go lol
the SNES was 16 bit and donkey kong country and stunt race fx and starfighter back then looked and played amazing
the super mario collection and super mario world were excellent in fact i am going on ebay right now to see wots available lol

Re: sega megadrive

whilst cleaning the attic today, i un-earthed some great gaming machines - its funny what gets thrown up into the attic I found:

amstrad (i think) - black keyboard with coloured play, pause, etc.. buttons

sinclair grey thing - similer to the black amstrad

a black keyboard with optional tape casette - not sure of make or model as its missing the the cover that goes around the keys

comador 64 with cateridge - was there such a machine

i also found loads and loads of games for them, to name just a few wheelie, horace and dizzy the egg

i would imagine all will be slung within the next couple of days

Re: sega megadrive

I've got a Master System II kicking around somewhere, that thing was class back in the early 90's!
Also got a Game Gear, which has 1 battery cover missing and a dodgy mains adaptor, plus it drains six NiMH batteries in under an hour , and a Game Boy Colour which is OK in bright daylight but utterly useless in the dark.
I used to have an Amiga 1200, which was a quality computer, had all the classics like Zool and Lotus Turbo Challenge. Was a bit of an arse loading everything from floppies tho, couldn't afford a hard disk back in the day! My dad made me sell the Amiga 7 years ago when we got a PC tho
Still got my original Playstation tho, and it still gets used to play Gt2. If only they'd make a PC version of GT4, my PC is about 10x faster than any PS2...

Re: sega megadrive

yeah us pc gamers are stuck with FPS's if we want a descent game, thats why I have a Gamecube, Xbox, PSP, and I might go and get another PS2 tomorrow cuz its been a long time sinse i last played some Virtua Fighter...
I think the reason why i don't slagg off other consoles is because i like them all, but the SNES was the best 16bit machine for real gamers.

Re: sega megadrive

the only catridge i had was robocop, its un-used, never been out the box until yesterday

i only just realised there has been a philips cdi in the back room which i never knew about been playing cluedo on it since i got home from work - cant figure out whodunit though

found an atari catridge console too, got centipede and double dragon plus loads more games - its a shame they gonna be dumped

i cant believe the amount of crap i found in the attic, its like aladins cave in there, got all my childhood toys (turtles, star wars, ghostbusters, transformer, etc..), again will all be dumped in the coming weeks
