COD 4 is a brilliant game I agree, however GOW 2 is so much better than World at War that its a no contest. If World at War had moved the game on like 4 did then this would not have been the case but it's the same game except they removed the cool bits and replaced them with olde world equivalent. Gears on the other hand has moved on a long way especially multiplayer from its first incarnation. Play 5 player horde on GOW 2 with your mates for 3 hours then disagree, not saying COD is a bad game it isn't but for shear pulling together and fighting alongside your mates Gears is just better. When you've spent time on live with calls of 'Boomer coming in mate get your a**e on the floor i'm hitting it with the mortar' 'Stand up ya c**t now sit down you headless locust mother f***er and 'Hahahaaha did you see that f**kers head explode' ringing in your ears C.O.D. can seem anodine and uninvolving. We have played both online but Gears is just somehow more involving.
 
I personally hate gears and find COD4/5 much better games and would choose either of those 2 over either of the GOW so its completely down to personal opinion which is better as is usually the case with most other stuff :p
 
call of duty world at war is good but cod4 is the best game ever made nothing comes close to it imo
 
Is world at war good worth buying? I have every cod game 4 was the best the previous where fantastic but im sick of world war two games and vowed never to buy another.

Hidden and Dangerous was a good game. Their was a film on TV about destroying German hard water production equipment. When I walked in the front room looked at the TV I had a few flash back of that mission lol

Vietcong was such a good game I played that several times with no HUD on max difficulty.
