Playing 360 through laptop screen

Is it possible? it's for my cousin as he wants his tv for another room and wants to play his 360 through his laptop?

I've seen this

he could buy a lcd monitor and attach the 360 via a vga lead

if your laptop has a vga input then you can do it, if not then you need to buy a USB av input adapter, and they cost as much as a second hand 17" computer monitor, so i'd rather buy one of those instead.

Yea told him not to bother as it's more hassle than it's worth, plus you may get lag if it's going through the laptop then onto the screen.

Just buy a decent tv
