Hooking xbox 360 upto surround system

Can it be done? I'm usually good on these kind of things but I have one of them built in dvd player with surround speakers, but I can't see a way to connect it to the Xbox 360? the only connections on the xbox I can see are the USB ones.

Depends what leads and connections on the you have.

If you are using the HDMi connection, there is an adapter supplied with the newer 360s to enable connection to Surround sound systems with either Fibre Optics for true digital surround or old style Phono connections.

Older ones as long as they arent a core also have a 5.1 optical out on the back to the end of the cable you plug into the 360, its the black spring loaded flap

i have mine set up through phono leads to the surround sound. you can use optical if your ss has it. or if your buying a new one then go for one with a gaming setting. should have all you need then
