Is this TV any good?

Hi, my bro is thinking about buying this Tv http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.100-1570...rt.y%3d15.aspx

now I don't know anything about TV's and was wondering what your opinions are on it

erm more than likely lol :P he saw it in town yesterday apparently, is the spec any good? or are there better TV's out there for the money?

No idea, not up on HD TVs I am afraid, although sure there was a thread about this recently.

And what is his budget - £650 from Tesco or £540 from Curries? If he could afford £650 to spend at Tesco, then he could buy a lot better TV surely, just by shopping around.

Wouldn't bother with the Phillips one - seems fairly limited with it's connections.

The Samsung ones tend to be pretty damn good all-rounders, if he's intent on biuying from tesco's look at this one ---> http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-3131.aspx
