Hi,

I have a Fiat Fiorino which has a grinding 3rd gear. I changed the oil out and it has got a bit better and only grinds when changing down and not when goin up the gears. I suspect the synchro has gone and would like to have a go at replacing it.

I cannot find out any info on this gearbox - anyone know the model code of it - 5 speed in a 2010 model 1.3 multijet. Is it in any other cars ie: Alfa Mito, Fiat 500?

It would be nice to do the work myself if possible. Gearbox looks easy to get to and looks to be a doddle.

Hi,

Yes, seen plenty of boxes around, however the rest of the gearbox is fine and as a new synchro is £50 and a second hand box from 300, I reckon it would be best to fix.

Hi all, I downloaded a "manual" for a Qubo from this site. The one I got is not a Haynes type manual. It says it is for technicians. It listed all the parts for the car and then broken down how to do certain jobs. There are 5/6 categories, so you have to look for what you want in each category. There's no index so it's the devils own game to cross ref. I started to print off the first section then gave up ,far too many pages. I guess once you've worked it out it would be useful.Don't pay full price,go to one of the voucher site. I had 30% off.

Hi again. Just looked at this downloaded manual and found there had been an update. There's an index now.

In the speed-reading of this thread (I'd not noticed it before) I scanned over it and saw "Emmanuel online" and thought - Hmm, now there's a read... Index too!!(y)

Hi RVM. The index/headings went on to something called WinZip and then disappeared.I think it was me though.I must admit it appears to be a bit beyond me computer wise, but someone who can work through it would find it useful. It's nothing like a Haynes manual but does show loads of part numbers and pictures, breaking down the vehicle into it's component parts. Arthur.

Hi Arthur,

Usually if you save a Winzip file, then click on it, the wonder of Windows (haha) should automatically extract the files and give you a new window with the various components (of the files) in to see which to click for reading what you want to read. So when looking at it as a download on the web page, if you click on it, you should have the 'save' option first which you do, then find where it's saved to and double click to be offered the choice to 'run' (or 'Unzip') and note where it unzips to, then you can look at the files and read it.

A .zip file is a compressed file of the original which reduces it in size to make it easier to send (email) as usually it's something very large and it would take ages to send and receive - or it would have in the days of dial-up.

Hi again R-V-M.I think this manual is very large, that must be why it went to this WinZip. There is the likelihood that there is more to this manual than I have found. My computer savy son is coming over sometime so I'II get him to have a look.
Thanks for your reply.I must make an effort to understand these computer things. I still work in feet ,inches and pints. LOL.
