Hi, i'm looking for information on diagnostics equipment for my Fiorino.I have the standard ob2 readers but would like to find out if there's a reader similar to digibox /lexia 3 that i use for my wife's Citroen, which does vitually the same things as the dealer can do.

Any help would be great

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bob, :)
where are you based..??

a demo of MES could be possible in the coming weeks,

I also recommend Multiecuscan. It runs on a PC or notebook with an interface and possibly adaptor lead. The interface costs less than £20 but we would need to know the year and engine of your Fiorino to advise what lead etc you need.
I can demo Multiecuscan if you are near Cambridge.

Thank you guys for the replies, unfortunately i live near Penzance so quite a way from most people. I will take on board your suggestions, i downloaded and had a look at multiecuscan software which looks quite good. I have a 2011 Fiorino 1.3D multijet, is this the sort of adapter i should be looking for? s-l1600.jpg
Thanks again

hi, that's ONE of the kits - YES, (y)

do check the supported vehicle list.. ;)
it'll advise which cables are needed to "speak" to which systems of the vehicle,
Charlie

Hi,
Yes that is a typical set of leads For your 1.3D you need a ELM327 to USB interface and the Yellow (No.3) adaptor. An ebay seller I'e used has these as items 301231120324 and
281563281937.
The free version of Multiecuscan supports very little on your car, just CAN info, but you can test it works before paying the registation fee.

Hi
Just thought this might help,
I had the usual check engine light on Qubo 1.3 D so after a couple of garages scratched their heads and offered no solution,
I bought a Foxwell oil service obd tool, "from an official UK supplier!"
It worked straight out the box...no messing ID'd the faults reset light.
The fixing is another story!!

Hi,
Seems quite expensive if ebay is anything to go by. You could get Multiecuscan, an ELM interface, leads and a secondhand laptop for that. While this type of of reader is great for basic engine diagnostics and fault codes, they do not support other systems and actuator functions the way Multiecuscan does.

Ye they are not cheep,
What you get is plug in and access to codes with very little hassel, its ideal for someone who is not savy with tech. There is live data and graph facilities which were usfull for me with ID of Qubo AIT Bank 2 fault (TMAP sensor Dirty not reading correctly)
I have used mine several times on Fiat Qubo, Izusu and A VW Golf and all times it got results basicly its paid for itself already.
If you go to Gendan uk they have a deal on the Foxwell NT 4001 Pro Service tool which offers a more comprehensive Engine and body control accsess with options for Air bag, brake and battery configuration.

good to know, (y)

it's the Fiat derived vehicle only nature of MES that could be an issue for those not really specialising in Italian Vehicles , or FIAT engined diesel vehicles.

thankfully I don't get along with other countries offerings.:D
