Technical Knocking noise on front

who ever designed the front mounts/bearings on these blo**dy cars needs a good kick in the knackers! I've had at least 5 new ones put in over the girls life (done 133k miles at the moment) 3 on the nearside and 2 on the offside......

clunk creak clunk! :bang: :slayer:

WOW, Thats going some.........what quality are they ?, and are they the new, with total rubber cover, ones ? Mine have only been replaced once under warranty years ago, and no problem at all since................long may it last !! I do remember, that they packed the new ones with copper ease...........and I mean like 'packed'.
Cheers Qube O.

They are new ones, I did ask the mech's if they were enclosed types but he had a blank look on his face and hadn't heard of them...:bang:

I am in scotland so maybe they haven't made it this far north yet....?(n)

not buying a fiat next car we get, that is for sure!

If you have a look down, I know its a bit difficult, towards the top bearing at the wing top, you should be able to see the rubber/plastic its really thick, and disappears under the fixing heads, then under the wing. No exposed bearing at all........................
Sorry you've had so many problems with these...........
Cheers Qube O.

Had both of mine done over last 18 months, no problems, however had two new front tyres, and tracking done, when checked over found a lump on the rear right,make that 3 tyres then, last week. (£220)

On Sunday, loud bang from front, followed by a tinkling sound, yep- broken front Spring! In garage for repair (aprox £100) so all in all, an expensive start to Feb..... Wife's not getting her valentines present this year .....apart from a bill!

Whoops...............had both of my front springs replaced a few years ago..........so hope (haha), that they last a few more years..........joys of motoring.
Cheers Qube O.

Should have kept my big mouth shut.....haha. Developed a 'rattle', was diagnosed by (Ex very good) Fiat Main Dealer as drop link failure, so took it into my local Non Fiat Dealer, but Fiat Expert, who replaced the drop links, both sides. Didn't check for the rattle as so called Expert Main Deals had found the cause....job done, I drove away for about 100 yards, rattle still there. Back on ramp, and yept, you guessed, front N/S coil spring........bummer. Back in this morning for the coil spring to be replaced, all quiet now......at last. Just the slightly empty sound in my wallet........2 drop links replaced £90, and today, coil spring, £110.........£200 all in, so I guess it would have been nearer £400 at Main Dealer........joys of motors, and dammed 'pot holes'....
Cheers Qube O.:bang::bang:
