ok just orderd my new Abarth. Salesman said that the first 200 ones are coming with bigger wheels, red leather, red stickers and maybe pearlescent paint and the price would be around £15K. They calculated it by adding these options to the £13.5K price. If you don't want these option you will have to wait another 3 months on top.

The SS kit is not as complex as the one on the Punto abarth hence the price is around £2k not £4k.

Funny thing is that the Punto is exactly the same price but with more power which makes you think that you may have to iuncrease the 150 bhp to 180 in the future:devil:

I was tempted by the punto as it is bigger but I think I would regret it in th efuture when I woudl see a 500 drive pass.

in the 500 ss kit you get wheels, lowering springs, uprated brake disc's and pads, b&m air filter, a key cover an esse esse engine cover and rear tailgate badge. the punto ss gets lots more engine stuff thrown at it to get over 170 bhp so the 160 from the 500ss could be about the limit of some of the standard bits, plus the punto comes as standard with brembo 4 pot calipers.

Thanks, do you reckon we could get brembo or any other 4 -6 pot caliper for the 500? I'd prefer to spend more money on brakes and suspension than BHP.

If the 500 abarth has 17s you should be able to fit them fine.

When I ordered my standard 135bhp A500 I asked the dealer what % of people where going for the SS over the standard and he said not as many as he expected but alot of people do go crazy with the options and there are alot of fully spec'd up A500's.

One of the reasons I went of the standard 16"s as Ive yet to see one on the road with em, most people go for either of the 17"s

Id love to get the SS kit retro fitted if possible but Lipscomb/Kent said they could fit all the SS kit bar the engine kit ie a BMC filter and ECU

Be interested if a private tuner could get more than the 160bhp from just a remap and panel filter

Third Party EPU remaps can be more powerful, but are detectable by the dealers.

The SS kit can be fitted to a A500 that has done less that 12,000 miles. Thats the full kit.

I have the GTECH piggyback unit fitted to my A500 and its amazing! It has a few more horses than the Esseesse and my MPG has improved since installation. It can be removed and sold on if I sell the car in the future. The car was quick before, but now it's just mental!! The way it should be

This will come as great news for anyone who thought 135BHP wasn't going to be enough - with the new upgraded turbo-charged 1.4l engine putting out a massive 160BHP.

Hi Just to say hi to you all as you may know we are an Alfaromeo and Fiat Garage offering
our own in house remaps we are now offering remaps for the Fiat 500 Abarth plus tuning packages
etc
we offer a 180 bhp remap and BMC filter for the 500 abarth and the SS
Great improvement over the SS .
plus we remap most JTDS in the Fiat and Alfa Range

Nice car. My cousin has an Abarth. I can't believe how big that car is on the inside. It's bigger than some so called sedans. I can't wait for this fast one to come
