acceleration flat spots & lambda light,....MAF, lambda sensor, fuel pressure regulator,.??
I've got a similar kinda complaint as Phils thread on his HGT from a couple days back, but for once I thought I'd break with tradition and not hijack his thread.
I've replaced the MAF before when my revs were struggling to reach past 4,5K but this is different.
I keep getting the Lambda light coming on after momentary hesitations when its under throttle. For a second or two the throttle will just cease to respond, then eventually the juice comes back in (bit hairy when your overtaking). It has trouble starting sometimes too, but cos its only intermittant, I can't rely on it playing up whilst its in the garage.
I had the AA out initially and they cancelled the lambda light out and said they couldn't read the code, so after the next time I took it to a dealer and they said its finding fault with the Maf and solenoid (I should confess at this stage that this is not the mule that's playing up, its actually my 97'volvo T5 but you guys are great and the search is soo much easier to use on here even if there will be marked differences between the models).
Doubting it was the MAF (and not wanting to fowrk out 200+ for a new one) I've replaced this solenoid thing that has 3 tubes linking the MAF etc, but still getting this hesitation.
Sven suggests flat spots means the Sensors knackd (it just clogs a bit like the MAK dosn't it?). I might try changing the sensor then before the MAF cos looking at how simple the volvo MAF is (simple chip suspended in mid air) the lambda sensor is the cheapest option - although they're still 4 times the price of fiat ones!
