It's that time of year again so had to put the HGT in for it's test..... FAILED !!!

Low O/S headlight, N/S CV boot and emissions....grrr.

Wasn't too bothered about the first 2, but the emissions concerned me a bit... could have cost me a fair bit.

Anyway, a jug full of injector cleaner, and a good old booting soon sorted that...

Another 12 months back on the road now for my beastie....

nice, mines going to need some new break pipes the flexi ones for my next one which is due 1st nov

Getting worried now.

Mine's due next week, and as have only had the HGT for a couple of weeks have no idea what is going to happen!

Must stop reading this forum as every time one of you puts an HGT through it's MOT it fails!!!!!

Any tips for what I should get Tim (im indoors) to particularly look out for on the car, or to do to it before I take it to Dave, my friendly MOT man?

You can never tell for an MOT. Just give the car a good going over, brakes, tyres etc...

Something could be borderline, but If the mech got out of bed the wrong side it isnt going to pass lol!

Last 2 years mines failed on CV boots, so best to give them a look over...

Tyres, brake system inc pipes and anything else you can think of is always worth checking.

Was only this year the emissions failed, but that was due to crud in the injectors...

For a fairly expensive to run car, mines done very well MOT wise over the few years I've owned her...

HGT's seem to be fairly robust cars, and if looked after, you'll find repair costs will be minimal.

A decent garage helps too...

Thanks for that Mark. Some of the brake lines were done at last MOT, so it's just general stuff really. Fingers crossed, got a bargain because MOT was nearly up, lets hope it was a bargain and not a pup!
