i have a hole in my cat on my 1.8 mk1 bravo and i was wondering could i replace my cat with a 2.0 mk1 hgt bravo cat and would it still pass the m.o.t the reason i ask this is cos im gettin a custom exhaust and they welding it to my existing cat so wanna replace it before its done

Personally I wouldn't weld the exhaust onto the cat because if it would need replacing adain it probably would be too much hassle!

Sorry can't help whether a HGT CAT would fit!!??

bump need advice about the cat cos the 1.8 cat is in two sections while the hgt one is one section but ive measured them up and they are the same length

i would check the bore dia,
i would get a new 1 they are about £50-£60,but if you cant get one from the scrap yard.dont weld the cat box,if you touch the platinum inside you will distroy it.if you get a new /second hand 1.,when you change it you can take your old one to a scrap metal yard and get about £40 for it..as it has platinum inside it,been doing it for years..lol
a cat for a 1.6 will fit a 1.8 as thats whats on mine,not sure about a 2.0 though..?

im not sure but i think the hlx is a smaller bore than the hgt but i could be wrong.

it wont pass an MOT but some garages are a little more leniant than others if you know what i mean lol

its ok im gonna get a new cat from a scrappers in doncaster thats if its not under water gonna call them today. how much do u think a cat from the scrappers will be?
