Ok, my family and I are going on holiday very early Monday morning, we are going to Miami for a week, and then onto orlando for another week, and obviously its a long flight. My missus was working today as a carer looking after handicapped kids, and they took them on a trip to chester zoo. However on the way back, they got stuck in a traffic jam, now the following details are a bit skechty, but it seems the driver of the mini bus got distracted and ran into the back of the car in front. The firm the wife works for insisted that everyone went to A & E to get checked out. The missus was diagnosed as having a mild case of whiplash, and the nurse appartley said, it will get worse before it gets better!!

Now I have never been part of the blame/claim culture, but I must admit to being a bit worried in case it gets worse. Its obviously very close to the holdiay, we have a long flight ahaead of us, and we had been looking forward to going on some of the scary rides at disneyland ect.

Just not sure what to do next?

Patrick sorry to here that

The same here the car got hit in the rear by a van on 23 may 06 the missus was driving
and as like your missus whiplash
the doc said 2 to 3 months be for it starts to get better
all going through the insurance and solicitors

and yes your missus should claim for the pain etc

Sorry to hear about that Patrick hope everyone is ok
I've done a bit of damage to myself over the years and had whiplash a couple of times.
When they said it'll get worse before it gets better there meaning it will hurt and be stiff but not too much worse than it is now.
They don't hand out collars anymore as they slow down the healing process but 2-3 months is a good guess to start getting some comfortable movement back but if it's not too severe try wrapping a hot towel round the back of her neck while she's sat relaxing it helps trust me.
Enjoy the holiday mate as best you can but def get a claim in.

I would also reccomend for your wife to go to the doctors when she gets back from holiday, and once or twice in the two month period preceeding the crash. Deffo go for a claim.

nope, don't agree with this claim lark, give her a slap and tell her to get on with it!

Cheers for the advice lads, and I will pass your e-maill addy on to her cynical:)

sorry to hear that, some of those rides in florida are killers!! and will pull your neck hard. the hulk ride goes to approx 60 in about 2.6 sec!! and trust me it dont give up there. ask your doc for some advice,as i think it could be a waste of money :( and if like most it's something you may never do again.

well if it ruins ur holiday or stops your wife from making money by working etc then you should claim because its not fair that someone elses actions should ruin you finantially. as for the pain i think its less worthy (ok the person hurt you but im sure they are sorry and regret it why should they suffer finiancially for an unintensional accident.) if you shut someones hand in the door you say sorry you dont give them money lol) as a claim and allways looks better in court if you dont go for it.
