i have decided to keep my 1.4, any suggestions on engine tuning and power boosting?obviously gonna be expensive, but wanting the cheapest route possible.

Kent cams used to (and may still) make a fast road cam for the 1.4 and with a remap you might be looking at 95BHP.

But really you are limited by the dire single point injection. (and not the 3 valves per cyl or the 'old' tech engine as some claim)

yeah, its cheaper, and easier to sell and buy a 1.2
its lighter, produces more power, and is only a tiny bit more expensive to insure.

I really wouldn't try and tune that particular engine.

The 1.2 is something i have already been thinking about, however selling is not an option at the moment

ok sorry to try and take the post, but everyone says go for a 1.2, i have a 1.2 so what tuning can i get done to make it faster?????

tuning wise for the 1.2 there are a few options to take.

what i was going to do, but am not now is as follows. punto box (shorter ratios so quicker pick up, had a few of these already and it makes it a whole lot more lively), full exhaust with de cat and also supersprint manifold, c&b cams, super chip or alike, head work etc.... should see it fairly quick for a 1.2

the cheapest and most effective 1.2 upgrade is an angel tuning remap.
Then, if you dont mind losing a little top speed, a punto gearbox for a couple of hundred plus fitting will see it shave a little time from its 0-60 (and lose that gain after 60+)
just get the angel remap, and that should do you for a while. :)
