Thats a diesel turbo from the JTD and the HGT is a petrol engine.

in theory yes I suppose. I know of a guy sticking a Volvo estate diesel turbo on his 1.6 EG civic VTi but if anything it just gives you the noise, as they are fairly low boosting turbo's on diesels. Could be wrong so noone slag me off (Tom!) if I am.

Diesel turbos are usually quite high boost compared to most production petrol turbo engines.

You also get max boost at much lower RPM as diesels don't rev high.

Funny you say that.

Im thinking of a supercharger for my HGT and was also looking at 1 from a mini.

If you go through that option then you will have post how you got on.

from what i can see its a mission, the super charger is cheap but the only logical place to mount it is where the air-con pump is but we have out exhaust manifold that side aswell and the supercharger is likly to fail on that

otherwise i would have already done it!

JTD turbo - bad idea. It will be completely wrong for your engine.

Without internal changes you will not be able to use any sensible boost values.

Paul... Just go buy a JTD! It comes with a JTD turbo as standard!!

tom thats not true really is it. if u go to van aaken for a turbo conversion he uses a ford diesel turbo for his low boost turbos (adds about 50 bhp)

They use garret T15 and T25 turbos. They are just model numbers, a ford diesel may also use a T25 (as does my VW truck) but they won't be the same.

There are hundreds of possible combinations that you can get these turbos in, and thats before you go hybrid and start mixing bits from other models.

I have turbo'd a normaly aspiated car before, its quite funny actually,

easiest way to do it is get the turbo / turbo manifold and down pipe off a Coupe set up a 5th injector and off you go

I reckon if you use all the coupe manifild and turbo pipe it will bolt up to your standard bravo HGT (or after market in your case) cat and exhaust system with out too much hassle
