Just to keep in the Torino family, the Mrs has just bought a Cloverleaf.

X Plate, 46k, Silver, all belts and varioators changed, full dealer history, £3250 - a bit on the pricey side, but it's in fabulous nick.

What a hypocrit!

Sounds nice, sorry to be ignorant, but is the 'cloverleaf' part just a type of trim or is it the flappy paddle gearbox?

Also what engine?

KeithR

In part yes, but it's the 2.0 16v variant, which in my opinion beats the 2.0 20v hands down.

Please note - that was my opinion only!

Bit pricey but it sounds nice and hopefully you get what you pay for

KeithR

you are entiled to your oppinion, i just dont agree ;) ... my preferance is in the 5cylinder, from a noise side only, the 4cylinder alfa engine feels far more lively down the bootom of the rev range, the hgt does go well after 4.5k though...

i dont know paul i have been in one of them 145 cloverleafs and they bloody fly! may be cos u had 18's on ur hgt but it was bloody fast either way

Im Driven to Earn, and I Earn to Drive......

And of course, don't forget that it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to change a clutch, cambelt or waterpump.

Like, I said, it was my opinion only - for what it's worth, Gents.

Oh you wait.........

Cheers Gents.

Surely, it cant be as exorbitant to change a camblet as the 20v Fiat motor!

I'll take a peek at the Forum later.

Even though I malign Fiat and Alfa, there's something that I can't get out of my system about them, so let's wait and see what happens with this machine. I've had one before and it was remakably hassle free. That's put the kiss of death on it!

I'm rather envious Rog. Would love a Cloverleaf.

How's the ST170 ? I'm enjoying my oil burning TDCi more and more :)

Rob

Hello Matey,

As for the ST170, well, I have to admit that the build quality is really very, very good. As we mentioned before, it's road manners are impeccable and it's power actually "feels" like 170bhp. It's not too bad on gasoline (but bad enough) and the insurance isn't horriffic - £575 comp, protected. Here's a startling admission for you - I actually bought a Puma 1.7 a couple of years ago - loved the handling an engine. Hated the fact that every other puma I saw was driven by a woman. So I sold it - to a woman.

I saw the Cloverleaf advertised privately with a "for sale" stuck in the window, so being a nosey bastard, gorped at the mileage and price and thought - we'll have some of this. So we did. If anyone wants to but the wife's 318, Let me know. I wouldn't, it's an expensive piece of Tuetonic Sh*te.

BRG...can you put me down for first refusal on the st170, i have one of thosein mind as a replacment for my hgt.

Paul R

The 318 is a 1999 V, Full Beamer history, 52k and it's sold, sorry chaps.

The 145 Cloverleaf is the wife's 9so the ST170 isn't for sale) but here's the good bit.......

Guess who broke down in The Lake District yesterday afternoon? Guess how the 145 broke down? Injector Lights and Key Code Lights both on.

ECU reset for 2 hrs - no good.

All Fuses and relay in tact too.

Thank Heavens for the RAC Breakdown service. It's at the dealers as I type. I dread to think what's wrong with it.
