Right peeps. I'm after a laptop and a little help/advice. Needs to be totally wireless (e.g. can be use to access the internet from the pub )and predominantly used for internet access and Championship manager.

Any thoughts?

my g/f bought a budget HP laptop for about 500 quid, then you can buy a wireless network card etc for under a 100 i believe

i think smee woudl have to be certain distance fomr his house or another hotspot?


you coudl buy a mobile data card liek vodafone and loads of companies advertise now,

or just bluetooth and connect with dialup or gprs through your bluetooth mobile phone?

most pubs i go to dont have wireless internet. if they did i would get a membership lol

err laptop hmm. hard to say. champman isnt a graphic demanding games but u need a lot of memory. 512 + easily. toshiba was doing a nice little laptop in pc world for 650. at crimbo likely to be cheaper now. but problem is with laptops they get filled with a load of **** before packed up. so u spend about 2 months removing it all

has wireless lan built into it, but you would need a wireless router at home too?

where i live there is a service called wireless broadband, ie they transmit some sort of radio wave which you can subscribe to and use for internet access, they brought it in as up until the last couple of months it was impossible for us to get regular broadband. I have no idea what it costs, where it is available or what range it has though.
