I too am struggling with this now. I've gingerly drilled through the big rubber grommit and stuck a pencil through it, but I still can't manage to see where it emerges!?

As the cable must be fed through from the engine side for the fuse to be located nearest the battery, how am I best to go about reaching the back of the footwell.

a) Just feel my way through the mass of wires from above, or
b) Jack it up and get underneath, or
C) Take the wheel off and dismantle the shielding to gain access

Ta muchly

Oh, and as I've an amp'd sub, and an amp for my speakers, and only one remote connection on the HU, do I just connect them both at one of the amps perhaps??

It comes out behind the carpet type stuff at the back of the engine bay. Stick your hand down there.

You have a HGT?

Then good luck, took me around 3-4hrs :(

As for the remote (i'm guessing the blue remote turn on wire?), i would have thought you could connect it to the first amp, then just bridge it to the second one...

Failing that, get a relay...

there's hope for me yet!

Drilled thru carpet too, fed both leads thru, hoorah.

Next Q.Am I ok then to use one remote wire from the HU to one amp, and then run the other amp 'on lead' fron where the first amp connects to the second one?(if that makes sense)

Doh!

And you get a whole load of extra wire (otherwise for the speakers I guess). Now this is much thicker than the stuff supplied with my speakers, but I am feeding tham with an amp. sooo. I thought thicker wire meant more resistance, but assuming you have the current to power the signal, am I then better off using this thicker wire from the amp kit, rather than the stuff supplied with the speakers??

Cheers Tom

Yeah, it will be fine...

Re: Cheers daz,

Ahh I had this problem and jus drilled through and fed string through then used that to pull cable through hole - once I figured out what problem was it didn't take too long.

I tell ya, now I know why people buy a corsa and mod it (part from being cheaper obviously) its sooooo much easier - under the dash on drivers side there is just a hole with rubber cap and jus push it through - takes all of 10 seconds!

Then again thats the price us bravo owners pay for sound dampening and owning a gorgous car!

sound!?. dampening

I am on the verge of completing the mammoth task of installing sound deadening (in most of the car anyway).

Q.Will it be worth it?
A. To tame my exhaust (main reason I embarked on this insane quest in the first place)- no! Hardly any bloomin difference (after sitting night after night with a paint roller in one hand and a hair dryer in the other)
A. As for the sound system..well I won't be able to tell anyway, cos I've only just bought all the new kit (inc sub), so wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway.

Q.Would I ever opt to undertake doing it again?
A. Not bloody likely!!

As for our beloved bravos, you know, if I had the money and some where to store it, I'd buy another pristine example of a HGT (broom Ylw of course) if such a thing still exists, just to preserve it. Then again the other half of me says cars should be driven, not displayed
