Re: re

I have had the Bravo from new and the handling has always been crap - relatively speaking. It has had new rear shockers this year - replaced under warranty at 50K miles - so they should still be good.
It is more about body control and poor steering feel rather than lack of grip. Probably Fiat think diesel drivers want a 'soft' suspension set up!
I have 195/50 Uniroyals on series 3 HGT alloys all almost new so it sticks to the road reasonably well, but compared to my wife's 145 it is rubbish on the bends. It lurches into corners in a most ungainly fashion.
Uprated shockers would probably stiffen things up but frankly the ride is harsh enough already. As for lowered springs!! They might look good for posing around town and they are great on a smooth motorway but they are worse than useless on poorer A and B roads.
There is not much I can do about the steering - I don't fancy trying to fit a quick ratio Alfa 145 rack even if it might just fit - so new anti-roll bars might be worth considering. Mind you they probably don't make then for the jtd.........
