ok might sound stupid, i own a 1.6 and was wondering can i fit an intercooler to my car and will it do a lot. if any thing.

It will reduce power quite alot. They are quite restrictive and rely on the turbo (which you ain't got) to blow the air through them.

you'll end up with much less power i'm afraid.
when a turbo is used on a car, it causes the charge to get hot which is where the intercooler comes in to cool it down a bit.

on a n/a engine like the one you have, there is no turbocharger to make the air get hot, so you dont need an intercooler to cool it down

I have a JTD,

now if i installed fog lights into the hole where the intercooler is ( bottom right) would the fog light restrict airflow to the intercooler or will it not affect it?

it will reduce its efficiency a bit.
