Hi all

New bravo owner needing some advice. I got myself a 97 1.8 HLX great car but for one thing, the suspension. Not sure if it is just me or the shocks are on the way out but it crashes over bumps at the minute.

Any ideas, do I need new shocks and if so what do you guys recommend? And if I don need new shocks is it best to get the springs replaced as well? Don't mind the car being a little bit tight but at the minute lots of bumps but its not really that neat in the corners.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Steve

Should be da shocks

Yeha mate the shocks go with regularity on older models.
Mine started leaking after 24k miles on the brava. Dare say depends on the millage n that and what previous work had been done on the car. Mine sis a 97 plate.

Springs don't wear :)

Bravos eat rear shocks. The bounce test is useless and the only way to check a shock is to take it off. After 2 years mine were ****ed but still passed the bounce test.

I replaced mine with Bilstein OEM gas shocks for just over £100 the lot. Much improved handling!

Cheers Guys

Thanks guys for the advice.

Mines a P with 55k on the clock. Really like the car just think ths suspension is a little of. But good to hear that is fairly usual.

Sounds like its new shocks then.

Think I will get some bilsteins, Tom any idea of good internet suppliers.

Thanks again

Steven
