Re: Re: Front windscreen
John,
Interesting comment you make about what insurance companies do and don't like.
When I got my HGT, it had ventialetd discs front and rear, so I rang up my insurance company who said they couldn't cover me! Strange, I thought, so I asked to speak to the supervisor, who checked with the underwriters who said it didn't matter and they could insure me! As it happens, there was also a K+N filter fitted, which they weren't bothered about either!!! By the way, this was immediately removed as all they do is give 10% more noise.
I rang around a bit and only one other "major player" said they couldn't insure me as the brakes had been modified. How queer, as they would however, insure a car that had steel whells as standard modified to alloy wheels. No wider than one inch from the originals, mind you!
THE LESSON HERE, ALL YOU MODIFIERS, IS CHECK WHAT YOU ARE COVERED AND WHAT YOU ARE NOT COVERED FOR. HEAVEN FORBID THAT YOU HAD A BAD ACCIDENT - WOULD YOU BE COVERED WHEN THE ASSESOR COMES OUT?
There's something for all you Piper-X, Dimma, Show, Koni, Marzocchi, Wolfrace, Arbarth boy racers to think about.
No sarcastic replies please, this is a statement of fact.
