I own a Brava 1.8ELX and recently encountered an irritating noise (it goes tick! tick! tick!....) from the rear boot. It starts when I switch on the ignition. I believe it sounds like something is shorting. The sound disappears if I lift up the boot lid. Can someone offer any advice?

ticking noise

Today the same noise started on my brava.
After investigating i found it was the rear
wiper motor that was clicking and found the
hatch electrical contacts dirty. After cleaning
the contacts the noise disappeared and the wiper worked as normal. Hope it works

Thanks for tip. I was just wondering which is the hatch electrical contact you meant.

The contacts are either side of the tailgate lock.
You will need to clean both sets of contacts.The
set on the tailgate and the set on the inner trim
just above the bumper. Hope this works for you.
