Re: Italian Car and Bike Show

Hi Dave, it is the first time.  I saw it advertised in Auto-Italia Magazine, but it looks like a hoot.  I have called the organisers and they have a bar and live band for the evening, so me a few others are gonna camp there.

Re: Italian Car and Bike Show

ive contacted the bloke as well, told him its a lot of money for a new show,
mitcar only charge £5 a car. there want £8-£10 a person.
if they want us to do a stand and bring our normal group of about 60, then they need to give us a conciderable discount

Hi Dave, who did u speak to?  I spoke to the organiser himself Jason.  I think he is jasonSF on most forums pistonheads etc etc.  I have spoken to him many times I will voice your concerns.

Re: Italian Car and Bike Show

Hi Cara and Dave,

Cara, thanks for the call. You are always a pleasure to speak with.

Dave, I do not recall speaking with you. Of course I am aware that there are cheaper events to attend, there are also more expensive events to attend. I have been to many many events over the years. I have always been a car and bike enthusiast, especially Italian machinery. Last year, I was at a very large well-known event (that was also £8 per head). I was chatting to many of the owners who had taken their vehicles to the show. It then struck me that many of them had the same feelings. It is always great meeting up with like-minded people, but after a few hours the event seems to die off. I thought how great it would be to close the doors to the public. put security on the gates only allowing access for the trade and owners and then have some fun. I have gone to great lengths to find a suitable place, (4000 acre park just minutes from a beautiful town centre) I have organised a camping area with shower facilities, fantastic food that will be open all hours. a live blues band, large bar and marquee, and many small events with prize money. I wanted to give the owners and the trade something back for bringing their vehicles and stands and giving the public something to look at. I have full security on-site at all times to ensure all tents and vehicles are safe, allowing us time to socialise and chat together, whilst having a drink and trying our luck on the rodeo bull!

For what I am providing, I think you will find the fees very good value for money. That said, we do offer concessions for clubs and groups. Indeed, if you would like a designated area for the FiatForum, that is something we can discuss. I hope to hear from you.

J

Hi Dave,

I have checked my e-mail. Although, I do get lots of e-mails. I still can't find any dialect between us. Anyway, that is neither here no there. I would love to get the FiatForum.com along to the show.

There is no problem leaving whatever you like at the show and going to a hotel. Colchester has hotels to suit every requirement and budget.

Thanks for coming back to me.

Jason

Re: Italian Car and Bike Show

Hi Dave/CaraLara/all

Thought I would give you all an update. We now have AMC Fiat/Alfa main dealers attending the show as well as a stand from the Fiat Motor Club. I was at a small car show on Sunday (24th June) and came across the oldest Fiat I have ever seen. (Attached pic) Sorry about quality, it was taken on my phone in the rain! Hopefully he will be bringing her along on the Sunday.

If any of you are in the area and would like to find out more about the site, I am at the site most Sundays running the car boot sale held there. I am usually on the gate and either in a Stilo, Alfa, or my Ferrari 355.

Would be great to see some of you there. I have gone to great lengths with security, entertainment and trade stands. Hopefully it will be enjoyable for everyone.

Thanks for reading.

Cheers

Jason
