MITCAR - Midlands ITalian Car Day

MITCAR is the annual Midlands event for owners of Italian cars, whether modern or classic. Held on a Sunday in late Summer, the venue is always a park in the Midlands region, suitable for picnics, car display and with an interesting feature for visitors. The first year was 2001 at Kedleston Hall, 2002 at Shugborough, 2003 at Newstead Abbey, 2004 at Grimsthorpe Castle and 2005 at Coombe Abbey. Again there was a prize draw, and the award of trophies and prizes including the Camshaft Trophy for Car Of the Day and cups for the runner up and for winners of each marque category as judged by popular vote.

The latest news for the 2006 event is that the date and venue are now firm. It's Leicestershire's turn and Sunday 27th August will see us at Bosworth Battlefield site.

The venue is Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre and Country Park in Leicestershire. This can be found on the right between the villages of Sutton Cheney and Shenton at post code CV13 0AD. In order to avoid confusion this is NOT the same as Market Bosworth Country Park, which is quite separate and much nearer to Market Bosworth. You have been warned!!!

Entrance Fee
Entrance fee only £2 per Italian Car. This entitles all occupants to reduced entrance fee to the Heritage Centre Exhibition of £2.65 (£1.80 concessions).

You need to be there at 10am to be on the forum stand please

plenty of hotels near, we staying here http://www.birminghamnec.crowneplaza.com/ though its a bit of a drive about 20 minuets but not far from coventry on the back road.
its same price as travel lodge £49 but for that you get a queen room, thats 2 queen beds in 1 big room. air con free bottled water, free cleaning stuff, free mints, and the usuall biscuits and coffee n tea stuff.

book soon as price goes up the nearer you get to the date

everyone should go to this, its cheap enough to get in. looks like there will be camping as well, so could be the cheapest meet of the year

It's never been the cost of getting in for me Dave, it's the petrol to get there and back

its the same money, if its only £2 per car to get in the money saved can go in the tank

if 2 or more people go in 1 car its a saving of lots of £££ compared to similar meets

Glad to see there some interest i've never been to anythink like this before and i'm reasonably new to the forum and as its just up the road how perfect! please let me know any more details if anybody gets any will try and find some cheapy hotels/ b&b that i can think of in the area! suppose if anyone got a tent i got me bk garden!!!!

I've found Bosworth Caravan Park can see they do pitches for caravans and b&b facilities too the website is www.bosworthcaravanpark.co.uk maybe worth looking into if unable to camp at the MITCAR site!
