Just got back - 5 1/2 hours even going a different way! I thought the M25 was the biggest carpark, but I've discovered it's actually the A1  Sorry to bail on the last bit, but as I wasn't staying a second night (this might be a better plan next time....), I needed to get going.

Many thanks to Andy AndyPanda4x4 for the excellent organisation as usual (y) Thanks to everyone else for the company too. (y)

I've got a few snaps but not many & I'm not going to upload tonight unless I get a second wind......

I hope everyone forgave me for bringing a mk3 Panda, but at least it was a Panda!! ;)

Doubtless there will be other opinions forthcoming on the red scraggy thing, but I was actually very impressed with it. Not only did it manage 620 miles over 2 days without throwing a strop or falling apart, but it also did 44.6mpg according to the trip thingy  Considering the offroading wasn't exactly good for economy & the rest was motorway/traffic, that's a good 10mpg more than I'd have guessed at.

This morning the mk3 took all those grassy lanes in its stride and was a little bit too civilised, and this afternoon it also seemed much smoother than it should be. I couldn't really get used to the lack of rattling/banging, and general sounds of bits falling off you get on a mk2 - I also didn't seem to be bashing my head on the roof or side windows as expected (those with a mk2 will know what I mean), and the lack of a fan sounding like a spitfire taking off was disconcerting! The Sisley's still better of course, but I'm starting to wonder how effective a mk3 might be with knobbly tyres on.....

I meant to ask crossman what the mk4 felt like on the roughest bits?

Did anyone get a pic of Jon (Freddy's dad panda1408) playing Dukes of Hazzard this morning by riding hanging out of the window & not using the door to get in & out? :worship:

Top day out hope u got the PANDA DIRTY Gavin

It definitely got dirty (y) Annoyingly it's not plastered in mud, and looks like it would if I went round some of the country lanes here - there's plenty underneath, just not up higher.

Where are all the pics going Andy AndyPanda4x4 ? The ones I've got are uploaded to my album, but will there be an event gallery? :slayer:

Great to see you this weekend Gav. Freebo is sorting us an album out shortly, but if you'd like to post a few sneaky teaser pics up in the Panda (classic) thread for this meet, I am sure more people will enjoy them :)

Ok will do - I haven't got loads, but I think loads of people were taking them. (y)

Did the ones you posted earlier have a higher resolution? The water splash one would have been good in a bigger format. :slayer:

Yes I think the proper pics that I have will be a better res, I just attached them to the post using the app so they may have uploaded in a lesser resolution, not sure how it'll work with the host servers.

Better late than never

Pictures are here, add me as a friend on Flickr if you want to download any full resolution pics (y)

Yes, awesome pics man. The whole album tells a great story of the weekend. I love the shots passing some of the classic cars on the road sections too  Also the dark ones in the wooded area at the end, fantastic thanks so much for sharing them.
