I have been organising a stand at the Luton Festival of Transport for years, although it clashed with something else last year.

Event info at http://www.cvpg.net/luton-festival-o...8th-june-2014/

This is another nice show, easy to get to, and no limit on either numbers or the age of the cars. As well as loads of classic cars, there's a big autojumble & trips to the Vauxhall heritage museum by bus from the show - this is FREE, and well worth a visit! (y)

As part of the stand there is no limit on the age of the vehicles, although I like to have plenty of older ones to counteract anything newer. Please let me know if you'd like to go.

I already have the tickets for this. They are FREE, will cost you nothing, so let's make it a good turnout.

For anyone worried about Luton, this is in a lovely park (Stockwood Park). (y)

Most of the tickets have gone out for this - there are spares if anyone now wants to go though. (y)
VmanC are you ok for this? We'll need to either get the tickets posted of arrange to meet up (maybe at Harpenden, as I have a car or 2 lurking there!).

I have sent out 11 of the 16 tickets, there are 3 potentially spoken for (inc 2 for Vernon), so that's at least 2 available (I think!).

Just a reminder that there is no cost to this show - I may ask for £1 to go to Pinky as I seem to be buying lots of stamps at the moment to mail all these tickets around, but you can always decline (and look mean :D ).

Gavin.

So, is there any plan for tomorrow or do we just turn up? Would be good to convoy in as a group.

Most people are scattered about, but we could have a mini convoy! (y)

Probably meeting VmanC en route but we need to find somewhere to meet ( just off J10 of the M1?). Our route is either A41/M1 or Tring/Dunstable? It looks about the same time & distance and should bring us near to J10 I think either way (just need to find somewhere to stop & meet...... ).

Anyway I could come over to chez Bob if you want - not sure of timings (about an hour to Luton? So about 8.30 to get there 9.30? ). Of course you could get there at 6am scout , just don't expect me to be there! ;)

I see the show ground/park is very close to the M1 jct 10  had a quick look and there seem to be no laybys on the way from the M1. Good idea coming to mine first  and we can pootle over together (8:30's fine).

It's a shame I can't find a willing driver - I was going to take the Strada from Harpenden across to Luton. Apart from a squealing fan belt (and needing a battery strapped in!) it's ready to go.

So it looks like it'll be a Panda or 127 only.

I've just had a google(!) as I remembered a petrol station very near to the show entrance. I'll suggest to VmanC that we meet there if he's able to make it (it's off Farley Hill, right next to Stockwood Park).

8.30 sounds fine - will let you know if there's any problem. (y)

Once you get to mine I can get you to Harpendon if you fancy taking the Strada for a change (y) , or we can leave Po behind and I'll drive the Strada.

Hmm it's only about 15mins each way back to Harpenden. I suppose we could ferry a third car back to Luton...... Maybe go to the garage, dump one car temporarily, drive to Harpenden, collect Strada, then back to Harpenden. Bit of a faff though do you think???

We had a great day with warm sunny weather, great cars & a fantastic group of people.

A few pics are below. I got distracted by the show & had missed a mk1 Tipo Sedici and a mk2 Tipo Sedici by the time I got round to taking photos! I also got carried away with the 127 & Panda, and forgot to photograph the original 500, and 124 Spyder..... As photographer I've sacked myself!!

The last one actually (accidentally) captured the editor of Practical Classics passing by - what are the chances??! (y)

Hello there any luck on a meet up I live in dunstable it be good if we could get a few people

Hi.

This is last year's event thread, but I will be organising it again this year - bit early, though I have just got the paperwork through.

This is one of the few "classic" shows where newer cars are ok as part of the Club display, so you picked the right one. Keep an eye out & sign up when the event thread goes up later. (y)

There are members in the area (I'm in Princes Risborough, and scout is in Aylesbury for example). If you want to try to arrange a meeting, I'm sure we could rustle up some cars. I'm not aware of anything around at the moment but who wants to stand in a field/carpark in February? The Midland Italia section is worth keeping an eye on, as there may be a meet fairly local later in the year.

Having said I'm not interested in Feb, if you want to arrange some decent snow & a 4x4 meeting up at Whipsnade or something, count me in!! I'll also lend scout a Panda 4x4 so he'll be in too! :)
