Good Evening!

I am the proud owner of Heidi a 1989 Ducato / Hymer Motorhome

I've located a diesel leak which seems to be coming from around th throttle housing. I think it may be a gasket that has perished.

Anybody out there had a similar problem and can offer advice before I dive in!

Ta:)

is that the 1929 Tipo engine , or a Frenchun..??

You will be as well taking it to a diesel specialist, they may change it in situ. If it's the Rotodiesel you'll likely need a new throttle shaft or and cover. If it's a BOSCH VE pump you may get away with throttle shaft.
It won't be a gasket it's most likely the o ring on throttle shaft but will also have wear on the shaft/cover. It will affect fuel usage due to leaks (pressurised area) can also in some cases affect performance, especially starting.

Done in situ would guess approx £200 parts & labour.
