If you are thinking of changing you Radio / Sat Nav you may find once you have done it that you cannot change the date / time settings. This is because the date / time setting is built into the radio / sat nav and not available through the MODE Button. I took my MH in again today and FIAT Still don't have an answer for this apart from putting the old radio / sat nav back in and setting it then swapping it again. :confused:

The MODE Button on the X250 had the date time feature.

..

Strange as the X290 handbook I have shows the date / time set as part of the 'mode' setting.

"Setting the clock (Set time)
This function allows you to set the clock through two submenus: “Time” and
“Format”.
To carry out the adjustment, proceed as
follows:
- briefly press the MODE button and two submenus, "Time" and "Format",
will be displayed;
- press the or button to switch between the two submenus;
- once you have selected the submenu to be changed, press button MODE
briefly;
- if you enter the "Time" submenu, pressing the MODE button briefly
makes the "hours" flash on the display;
- press the or button to adjust;
- briefly press the MODE button: the "minutes" starts to flash on the display;
- press the or button to adjust;
– if you enter the "Format" submenu, pressing the MODE button briefly
makes the display format flash on the display;
- press the or button to select "24h" or "12h" mode.
When you have made the adjustment, briefly press the MODE button to go
back to the submenu screen or hold the button down to go back to the main
menu screen without storing.
- press the MODE button again to return to the standard screen or to the
main menu according to where you are in the menu"

mode button just takes you straight to the menu
also says the same in my manual but clearly dont work(n)

This used to be a common problem when removing Connect Nav+ units from Stilos. Yani included a function in Multiecuscan to revert the vehicle settings to the MODE button. The function may also be in MES for other models.
.

The Connect2 Module does not work with the Blaupunkt Capetown 945. :mad:

The switches inside the Connect2 Unit seem to be a waste of time as without the radio in everything works except you cannot set the clock ( Work in Progress ) and the trip meter does not flash. Setting the switches to select the type of radio you had in does not do anything so Fiat must have changed something.

The good news is the CarMedia-Systems.De have a module CX-401 which works. Switch settings are for your NEW Radio type. Bit of playing around with the wiring and hey presto off it goes :)

Sat Nav now works as it should even the fast start which was missing on the Connect2 for some reason.

I've swapped my bog std 2015 ducato radio unit for an Andriod unit and have a couple of the above faults ie flashing milage on the dash and no date etc.
Please can you give me some more details of the CX 401 module and how it plugs into the vehicle etc.

The unit above will sort out the steering controls but I still cannot get the clock to change. Looks like one solution is to fit the old radio. Change the clock and then put the new unit back in again.

The reason for the flashing display is that the CanBus System knows there is something not working. In this case it cannot get a response from the radio to say it's there. In the factory when they first fire up the electronics it finds everything that's fitted.

Our local Fiat Dealer is trying to get it sorted :bang: .. Not having much luck and they have had the Motor Home for 2 weeks.

The MODE button now has the Date and Time function after a PROXI reset. They set it to have an After Market radio and it worked. The CX-401 is an after market add on to get the steering wheel controls ( SWC ) to work. Been playing with this bit for ages and finally thought I had got it fixed :bang: .. Then all of a sudden the milage started flashing AGAIN. Have now removed the unit. No updates available to solve this one. The Connect2 unit works but will not interface with the Blaupunkt :bang:

I have a feeling that the reason it does not work is that the FIAT knows there is something on the Canbus that it is not expecting to see. Next job will be to stop the CX-401 from sending ANYTHING to the canbus. I think this can be achieved by cutting one of the tracks on the main logic board :eek:

Well after taking a close up picture and studying all the info about the Canbus driver chip I decided that the only thing left to try was to cut the track :eek:

Logic tells me that the CX-401 should not have anything to do with the FIAT Systems it just has to listen for messages on the Canbus and then act on them.

:idea:

:)

Well that seem to do the trick .. Now what else needs sorting :D

That's very interesting. Did you actually need the cx 401 in the end? Couldn't you have done it with a std harness adaptor?

Standard harness adaptor would not have sorted out the SWC on the Blaupunkt Sat Nav. It's far easier to use the volume control on the steering wheel than on the radio. Blaupunkt has two volume controls. One for radio and second for sat nav. The problem arrises when you want to increase the volume for the sat nav as it can only be done when DORIS is talking. With the SWC as soon as you hear her you can up the volume if required. SWC also work the Phone connection and Mute for the radio. Suppose I could just have had a set of buttons round the wheel that did not work (n)

As for FLASHING DATA you need a PROXI Reset so the FIAT knows it has not got a FIAT Radio and this will then give you the MENU Date / Time settings. The PROXI reset needs doing without the FIAT Radio fitted.

Do you know if simply removing the FIAT Radio & doing a PROXI realignment with MultiECUScan will cause the date/time settings to revert to the MODE menu buttons or are there other steps required via MultiECUScan to tell the BODY computer the FIAT radio has 'gone'?

Hi I'm having all sorts of issues with my radio and cluster, did you sort the Proxi alignment? and did it revert to the mode botton on the dash?
